Small Scale Military Headquarters

Has anybody seen this or know anything about it? $75 for a 1:16 R/C tank firing Airsoft pellets seems pretty cheap!

I have the Pershing and regret it greatly. The gun tube is way over scale. It looks like 175mm instead of 90mm and is very noticeable. I think this was done due to the plastic bb's it fires. The rest is ok.

I have the Pershing as well, and my boss has the Panther version. Like Chunks said, there are some scale issues dictated by the 6mm pellet size, but if you look at it for what it is and accept that scale may not be 100% accurate, it's a good buy for the money, and seems to be pretty well built. If nothing else, it's a lot of fun, and the airsoft mechanism isn't on a par with a good airsoft gun, but it's enough to ricochet a pellet off 3 walls of a 10x12 office!

It's a bad Chinese bootleg of Tamiya's 1/16 Tiger I.

It's cheap, because it shows on the product. The RC mechanisms' quality of these things seem to vary greatly, ranging from good, to holy-crap-it's-broken-right-out-of-the-box.

The cheapness bootlegs show in the quality of the model tank itself. Plastic sprockets, no rubber wheels, shortened gun barrel, and many other, "WTF" mistakes.

I dunno if they deliberately did these errors in order to sell these things here in the US to go around international laws.

You have no idea... I can't think of too many companies that let you get away with decorating your office in 1/18 aircraft (up to 6, but running out of ceiling) and armor (8). Then again, my illustrator has his decorated in 1/32 (9 aircraft and 26 pieces of armor). We have our share of fun

You are closer to the truth than you know. Although it had nothing to do with armor and aircraft (they stay on display with a "you want to see how badly a router bit can mangle your fingers if you touch them" warning). But I did finally make the marketing people put away the ping pong table.

I've a feeling that folks collecting this typa stuff are fortunate in many ways. One member here once mentioned keeping some of his collection in his classroom, I keep my dup's and retired items at work(tho the guy in the next cupe' over has a "Restricted Airspace" sign over his area, and he works for me!!), and now this. Great, I say, more of it!!

Yeah, my crew started worrying when I looked at picking up a wireless mini-cam that I could mount on the barrel of the airsoft tank and watch on my computer. You'd think these guys never had a paintball or BB gun war...

I have posted on this topic before, but I'll do so again. I have both the Tiger (in grey) and the Pershing. I think they are both loads of fun. Some people will try to stear you away from it these by poo pooing them because they are cheap knockoffs of Tamya R/C tanks. This is true, but for those of us who can't or are not willing to shell out six hundred to a thousand and over bucks for the Real thing, these have a place too. I found them to be superior in several ways to the 21st Centuty R/C's. They are bigger than the 21st scale 1/18 (my r/c Tiger is noticeably larger than my 21st side by side) but it is not as noticeable when they are not sitting next to each other. I actually ditched the cheasy rubber looking tank commanders that came with them and manned them with 21st Commanders and I think they look cool. You could easily set up a town or battlefield with your 21st stuff in your yard and battle with these tanks among it and not really notice the difference in scale. For the price, I think they are a great value. I got mine at www.raidentech.com. Mine are both the smoke and sound versions, although the smoke motor is a little loud. They also come with a volume control which is very nice after having 21st Pz IV's with none. Anyone else need any info on them, just let me know.

( I also believe raidentech has or at least did have a dual pack you could by and save a couple of $$ buying them both together.)
