Small Scale Military Headquarters

Now that 21ct is releasing traditional paint and glue kits in 1/32, is there any chance that they would venture into a 1/18 kit ... man I think that would be sweet. Not having to wait for a cheap xd so I could do as I wish with it and not feel bad.

Theres no doubt about the difficulty, But I dont think it would be that bad considering that the scale being that much larger would make it easier to work with. And the working surfaces and features aren't really above your avarage modelers skill level IMO.
Then I guess they could always just make kits similar to the screw and snap tanks kits already available, but just leave them unpainted

1/24 model kits are $90. and more, so I don't see how an 1/18 kit could be worth it except for your wealthier hard corp modellers.... Say $125. minimum or more for a good kit a least then come the accessories add-on price- way to much skin off my palm...... TJJ

This topic has actually come up before. If I recall correctly 21c mentioned that it is actually more expensive for them to produce the kits or the unpainted versions compared to the pre-assembled ones. Not to mention only hard core modelers would want them and why would they pay $80 or more for a kit when they can get one for $40 and cannibalize it. I wouldn’t hold my breath for 1/18 kits. Nice idea if they were cheaper but they wont be. Now maybe a 1/18 B-17 kit. That might have some promise, especially if it isn’t offered pre-assembled. Then they can ask what ever they think is appropriate for it.

if the new 32x kits move well I think there is a growing chance to see 1:18 offered the same way. I suspect that a 1:18 kit would retail for $39.99 to 49.99 for a regular size model.

Like the new 32x kits I would suspect that the draw to us 1:18 toy fans is the opportunity to quickly build one of our own and be provided marking options for schemes not released in the regular toy line.

I could see it happening some day if all goes well for the new kits!

Seems to me that if 21st would offer a 1/18 kit for the modeller it couldn't be as detailed as a Monogram or AirFix kit for those prices. Generally I don't see them being a big seller, just my nickels worth........ TJJ

Well, that is news and it's contrary to their earlier explanation of their production process. I for one would love to see it. But I’m still not holding my breath. I have no time for kits.

I dont mind building the planes, I would actually like that, but I really dont want to paint them. I dont have the tools, or time to paint them, plus the cost of the paints, airbrushes, ect. makes it a bit costly if they are sold for the same price as the already built and painted planes.

yeah - the models look great - ive already seen them in the store - but the paint works scares me away - no time or mad skilz to pay the bills there.
