This is for the guys who have a bunch of the planes. How do you display them? Do you keep them in boxes or hang them from the ceiling. I tried hanging one in my war room and two bad things happened. First I ruined my wall which is old horsehair plaster and second, the plane fell. So now they are displayed parked on the war room floor. The work on my man cave is stopped due to three of the four main beams and the header being rotted. $8-$10 thousand bucks to fix so im reconsidering my options and looking for ideas.....

All my planes are unboxed. I hang them on the ceiling using an eyehook and 20lb or greater strength fishing line. When my room was partly remodeled a few months ago, I chose (or was rather forced) to hang only 4 planes with a couple more displayed on a table. The rest either hang in my attic and are rotated out, with the others stored in a cabinet in my room.

I have about 7 planes hanging from the ceiling but I am limited to space l in my man cave as well. The room is about an 11X14 ft room so I bought three of the largest (72inches high) steel shelving units from Walmart that you put together. I assembled two of them and used the third for spare shelves. Painted the steel black and dark mahogany stain on the wood shelves. I am able to display 16 planes as well as 19 peices of armor and 6 helos vertically without taking up much room. All cost about 175.00 for shelves, stain and paint. Can send a pic if you want to get an idea.
