No 1/18
I don't believe there's any 1/18 armor RC out there. The closest scale I could think of is 1/16 and 1/24
Marui makes very nice bb-shooting RC tanks. They have m1a2s, leopard 2a5s, and the Japanese Type 90. There's are very nice tanks, very durable (just don't run them in water), and very detailed. Avoid the cheap Hen Long copies like the plague. One of mine actually caught fire when the battery over-heated. Marui tanks usually runs $150-$160
Doyusha is making a OIF M1A1 in 1/16 scale. This is the rehash of their old 1/16 Abrams, but they added some nifty stuff, like stowage gears, IFF panels, and auxilary power unit in the back of the turret.
If you have modelling skills and $800-$900 to spend, you can't go wrong with the new Tamiya 1/16 Leopard 2A6. I saw this bad boy run in my local hobby shop and I literally drooled over it.
Or if you have Bill Gates money, you can look across the pond and get one of those crazy British 1/6th and 1/9th tanks.

1/16 Tamiya! These make the XD stuff look like toys. Again, decent modeling skills required. I would recommend the M-26 Pershing. Very nice tank, it has all the functions, including barrel recoil, (unlike the Sherman) real close to scale speed and the best part is you only need to paint it one color, olive drab, no camouflage! Some tankers have used Krylon camouflage olive drab with success. If you have friends with them or join a club, you can outfit them with the infrared laser tag system for simulated battles.
They take about 10 hours to get rolling, (no painting) then as much time as you want for detailing.
I have 5 Tamiya tanks. I have not run them outside much, and have not had any mechanical failures. Some people have had gear box problems when running metal tracks.
Check out BackyardArmor.com They have good prices and plenty of aftermarket goodies.
