New product development on AREA-21
Sorry for all the secrecy. Orders are orders! Check out AREA-21!
Re: New product development on AREA-21
There is nothing to check out until tomorrow, right? I can't wait to see whats going on. What time during the day will you be updating the site?tko211 wrote:Check out AREA-21!
hmm....in light of what TKO said i will guess: Me 262 Nightfighter version....we know it's coming out but assumed the day fighter version like Admiral just put out. But maybe 21c tweeked it in light of AT's release preceeding theirs. I just don't know about the repaint potential for it is all...that's very important to 21c in their decision making process.
Just a guess..![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Very good guess imo. Fits TKO's description very well. Can't wait.aferguson wrote:hmm....in light of what TKO said i will guess: Me 262 Nightfighter version....we know it's coming out but assumed the day fighter version like Admiral just put out. Anything new is. of course, most welcome. Please bear with me while I fantasize for a moment.
What if 21c thought ahead with their 262. By molding the fusilauge to allow modular nose's they can offer us the following:
V-056, single place night fighter
V-083, single place 50mm armed
A-2a/U2 two place pathfinder
and the ultimate Mistel with 262 upper and lower components.
Just for starts, I'm sure there is more.

Since the nose section of the 262 was completely interchangable I also thought this might be a good idea. However, the first problem you run into is paint. Are you going to have every version wearing the same scheme? The second is fit and finish. At this scale the seam should be nearly invisible. Keeping that tolerance on a mass produced fairly inexpensive toy is probably as close to impossible as you'd want to get.
Well, I was thinking, since repaints are to be expected, why not offer a new version with it (you can still do repaints of the mainstream version, of course). As far as the joint goes, BBI's F-16 and F-18 have them, so it's not unheard of.Timbo wrote:Since the nose section of the 262 was completely interchangable I also thought this might be a good idea. Just to clarify, (sometimes english seems like a second language to me). I don't mean they'd offer a 262 with multiple nose's in the box, but rather to offer one version per box with the appropriate markings. By molding this thing modular they can then offer a different version with different markings in the other box. Just thinking about the cost of tooling even before the first one is mastered.chunks wrote:Well, I was thinking, since repaints are to be expected, why not offer a new version with it (you can still do repaints of the mainstream version, of course). Hmm...good point. IIRC, two of the new tanker figures are nicknamed "Preacher" and "Scribe". Someone earlier suggested this might point to the release of the M-7 Priest. The new figures are starting to show up.exether_mega wrote:does a King Tiger have wings ?![]()
