I wonder,
now that there are Korean War planes, will there ever be any Korean War figures?
they could be very well based on the US Marines and the Japanesse figures?
anyone would also be interested?
let me know.

I agree, Korean 1:18 would be very nice. I've always wondered if anyone would ever do a series of soldiers from every war era, like the American Civil War, World War 1, Korean, the American Revolution, Napoleonic, also maybe a few Romans in 1:18. Not just "statues" but actual action figures with plenty of accessories. I guess we all can dream.

Decent Korean war soldiers could potentially be created using parts from the 21c Marines and the BoB troops. Alot of the infantry weapons and equipment used by the UN forces in Korea were simply leftover from WWII anyways.

I would really like some Korean war ground crew. My F-86s need a few crew chiefs.

Bring on the 1ST Marine Divisions---CHOSIN FEW---and I'd buy 10 of each!!!!

Any other U.S. division and I might pick up a few!!!!

---But the FROZEN CHOSIN would be cool to see ---since there is not alot of interest in the Korean War as far as collectables go!!!!!

All kinds of our WW2 stuff was also used effectively in the Korean War.
Both of the Dodge trucks, Shermans (OK, with the 76mm guns), half-tracks and especially the M-16. Even alot of WW2 Jeeps were carried over and used in Korea.
Most of the time just whip out your paint for the darker OD, but vehicles were used that had been in surplus stocks in Japan, so they were used in WW2 colors.

Not sure how accurate it is, but I made a satisfactory crew chief figure using the body of one of the M113 tanker figures (the one in the plain fatigues) with the head switched to that of a BoB Jeep driver.
Since getting the surplus Viet Nam tanker figures, I didn't have much use for the M113 figures until now. It looks pretty good to me

I try to do that, honestly....especially now in 1/6 and also in 1/18.

Another thing about the Korean Era is that 21st could get the rights/permission to do a remake of the "MASH" figures and tents, medical camp!
that would be another cool box set to buy!
even the helo "Angel of mercy" Bell 47.
cool stuff.

A 1/18 Swamp set with Hawkeye and Trapper in their bathrobes drinking martinis by the still, I'd buy one! Maybe a Hotlips figure too.

Nice work! A probable reason as to why we haven't seen any specific Korean War figures (apart from the relative obscurity of the war in the public mind, given its placement between WWII and Viet Nam) is because the figures would so closely resemble WWII figures. As 75th Ranger just demonstrated, it is quite easy to customize a Korean-era soldier from existing USMC and BoB troop parts and perhaps may seem a little redundant to the manufacturers.

Cool custom Ranger, and very good point Tman. No need for KW figs when we have most of the raw materials. Some WWII Brits/Russians, some new VN or some Modern Regulars I think would all make much more sense.

Does the plead for a T-34 ring any bells?
Now a T-34 matching uo with a M-24 Chaffe or M-26 Pershing, or both, would make a great Korean War dio..

Thanks fellows, but I still think that based on the fact the "re-paints" are easier and cheaper to do, I would still like a Koreas Figure set, plus I still need to find a way to make a custom Chinese regular!
take care.
