Question about BBI US Paras

The figures that came with their own parachutes: do all the figures have the same, camo patterned coloured chute and were parachutes of that colour actually used during WWII? I've only ever seen white and a sort of overall olive drab colour for WWII era parachutes.

Yes & yes. They all have the same chute and the canopy of the main chute was camo.
These paras do come with different kit and weapons and have the BEST head sculpts in 1:18 scale. They're great for adding variety to your other WWII guys, especially the bbi paras that came out after. The heads swap real easy and the different belts allow for good mix of guys. The arms swap easy too so you can add a medic to your ranks also.

so you are saying that the camo pattern printed on the BBI parachutes is accurate? I've honestly never seen a camo pattern chute used during WWII.

Can you remove the parachutes or are they permanently attached? I have the full set sitting in a box here but I haven't opened one yet. I was looking at the modern paras in TRU and wondering the same thing.
yes & yes

The camo might have too much white in it, but yes it is accurate - a mix of three shades of green seems to be the best way to describe the real thing - a very light green base, with small blotches of two darker shades. Then again, what appears to be a light green (yellowish) base 60 years later might have actually been white, I don't know.
And yes, the parachutes come off and a "packed" chute can be put on the figure under which the harness straps fold. So while you can't have them sans harness altogether, you can have them "jump ready"

this pic is from operation market garden and looks to be camo

I have a piece of camo parachute to compare it with the bbi 1:18 version
