I am not a good customizer, but I purchased 4 LAVs from TRU and found a cool website with all of the variations:

I was wondering if anyone has tried to customize them. The LAV is a very cool toy and was on sale for $15 so it would be a cheap custom to make. I dont know how you would be able to make a 105mm gun for the MGS version

Tderespino has that exact project in progress (last we saw). I agree that this is a great piece to pick up and customize for 15 bucks. The base is there, it just needs a lot of work. My brother actually did one with spray cans that doesn't look too bad for a rookie....

which version did your brother try to make? I just pretend that the machine gun on the top of mine is remote controlled, but I think that is as far as I will go. Please post pics if you got 'em
