Looks nice but the scales are off. The gun is 1/16 and looks very good with the carriage. The FAMO half-track on a M-3a1 chasis is way off. Much too small for the gigantic FAMO half-track. The scale would be closer to a Demag half-track, which in itself would be too small to tow an 88mm gun. More likely the Demag would pull the new PAK-40. Nice custom work though.

Comments anyone.

Yes, the scales are off, but that is some nice work.
He used the Hanomog 1/2 track running gear, which is 3 ton. The Demag was a 1 ton vehicle which could only tow a 37mm gun or 2cm Flak.

it's not a Famo....more like an sdkfz 7. It would be about 1/20 scale if it was converted from the XD Hanomag (which it was) and as stated above, the 88 is 1/16. Still look good together.

I just posted about this in the b/s/t section. Beautiful work, especially on the gun. I bet this goes for a mint.

BOY, i cannot wait til the day we see this in 1/18 (and i know that day is coming).
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

Sorry guys, of course you are both correct, my bad.

I've just got White half-tracks on the brain and whenever a half-track is mentioned, my peanut brain thinks we are talking about Whites... :?

It's all your fault, Charlie! First you sold me those 1:18 Dodges then the 1:6th Scout Car so I had a pattern to make the 1:18 halftrack conversion. Now I find myself running to a Walmart every other day. How can I ever repay you?
