21ST DROUGHT-EAST OF MISSISSIPPI?

I heard gossip today that 21st used to have a distribution location on the east coast, but now only have one in Arizona- Maybe a few boxes fall off the ships at the west coast port(s) and the rest end up in the nearby bigger metro areas in Texas. I guess this is why now Georgia sux as well as most other places when it comes to finding new items.
Haul ass over to Georgia if you still need brumbars, stugs, black 109s, macchi's and zeros, ridgerunner p-51s, seeman 109s, desert stukas, 1st scheme 1/144 planes and tanks, and other assorted effluvia. Oh, some of y'all dont even have these? ya gotta be kidding.
BCA teased me a little and said they have a bunch of the new stuff on order...

Up here I've found that almost everything shows up eventually, but often several months behind some other areas of the US. And I've learned over time which stores in a fairly broad area are worth checking, and which ones are dogs that never seem to get anything in. It's been a pretty consistent pattern for at least two years.

It is sure dead in my area of FL. Lots of 1/32 armor, playsets and aircraft of course since I don't collect those but little or no 1/18 figures or vehicles. If I go check out a WM it will invariably be the exact same stock from last time.
The spots on the shelves for medium and large sized 1/18 vehicles have been empty for almost a month now though the prices are still on the shelf.
It seems like everyone bought up all the good 1/18 stuff and all that is left is the stuff they can't get rid of, and they aren't replacing the stuff that did sell.
As I've said, I really wish 21st could hook up with TRU again or maybe Target. That would make it alot easier on us collectors but I'm sure they know what they are doing.

It is pretty bad here on Maryland's Eastern Shore. We had a couple Avengers and M-48's but they have long since gone. I really wish 21C and WM would get the stuff out to everyone.

It's been rather "dry" here in my AO as of late (DC Metro Area), no Migs/Sabres on the shelves as of yet? hence the reason I've outsourced recently and had friends pickup said pieces and shipped 'em my way. I have started to notice a dribble of 72nd scale recently, so I'm hoping to find the 18th in the near future.

Damn, Im flying out to DC tomorrow for my HS reunion in VA. I was just telling my wife that there was a whole new world of WM's to scour while were there. She just groaned. I hope to find something new that hasn't shown up in my NW neck of the woods. Oh well. You guys all have a good week and I hope to be able to boast about new finds when I get back on the 29th.
Have a good one,
Dennis

I, feel everyone's pain as well! Here in Texas we have the Zeros and 202 collecting dust with none of the new 1/32 Stuka or Corsairs! To top that, just when the last 1/18 stock that has been around for over a year is gone, they stock up on 6 to 8 NK Mig-15 per WMs, which means it will be ages before all of those Migs are gone and WM handy distribution system kicks in!
Next week I will out in Sacramento, Calf on business trip and I am packing an extra duffle bag and have already mapped out the closest WM to my hotel just in case I find 21st product that I know is not back in Texas! My new motto in travel is "Pack extra, cause WM back home may not get it!"

Watch out with the CA Wal Marts... reports, when they've come in, have been pretty dry, and that's not just with my area

You may get lucky and find the Mig repaint or some of the new 32x planes, but I wouldn't keep you fingers crossed for a shelf full of Pak-40s, M16s and Stuka Zu Fusses just yet...

Maybe we can all get together and picket in front of WMs headquarters.
We might be able to get in a good thirty minutes or so before they start firing the rubber bullets and release the dogs.

mikeg...... Just so you know, as well as anyone who may be interested, the gossip you have heard is total BS. I live about a half hour from the Sutherland Wal-Mart distribution center, which is in Dinwiddie VA. It is one of the areas largest employers, as you can well imagine. If it were to close I am pretty sure I would have heard about it. Actually I have heard just the opposite. Word has it that WM has started leasing a few local warehouses In order to cover its expanding operation. Hopefully they are making room for more XD.
I think the bottom line is that WM's distribution system stinks, plain and simple. There seems to be no real rhyme or reason as to who gets what or when. I guess when you are the big dog in town you can do what you want.

thanks Rob, old buddy, old pal -
I'm a salesman by trade, so I should recognize BS when I hear it as well as using it daily. This certainly may be one of rare times when it slid right under the old bs detector, though, no doubt, huh?
thanks for looking out for me, Rob!!!

"She just groaned"....and they expect us to give lenghty answers and responses, and after 32years married to my first/only wife, I certainly do as I advised above....I answer and respond with; "Yes Mam"
At least a groan is not a definite "NO"!
Good hunting on your reunion,

I have this bad feeling that all the XD stuff I'm buying now while I'm single will disappear for one reason or another once I do get married.

Heck with that,RD, just add the XD to the vows!!!

But make sure you use a VERY GOOD Lawyer!
Of coarse, you could use my house as a very safe, smoke-free haven for all your XD...it will be in very good hands-hehe

Yeah a very good lawyer and a lot of careful wording. Maybe I should search around for a Barbie collector or something.
I'll have to get back to you on sending you my XD for "safe keeping"

Someone needs to get a job in the distribution center and make sure XD makes it to all stores.

Pittsburgh's been dry as well... No new planes, not a speck of land vehicles save for RC stuff here and there, and figures are down to one peg of Japs or Marines at any given location with zero BotB figures to be found. They sold fantastic then simply up and stopped shipping all together.
Dumb Wal-Mart...
