Bad Cat Aviation has supplied about 50% of my 1:18 scale fleet. I would give them a five out of five star recommendation. www.badcataviation.com/

50% Bad Cat
35% Wal-Mart
10% E-bay
5% Other E-tailers
One hundred and fifty three - 1:18 scale aircraft on the ceiling looks  damn good!

I have purchased five 1/18 aircraft over the last year from Bad Cat and I have always had great customer support from them. They do what they say and back it up 100%

The rest of my purchases are from the Michigan Toy Soldier shop in Royal Oak MI.....about 25 min. from my house. They are also great to work with.
The sign of a great model is that one’s eye is not drawn to any one feature, yet one can study it for hours and continually find something new.

I've bought about 80% percent of mine from BCA a couple from E-bay and maybe 1 from Walmart. Going through Badcat is always a much more pleasent experience then trying to find things at Walmart and in the end cheaper, no sales tax and no wasted gas looking.

Depends what you want, and where you are located. BCA had some great deals towards the end of the summer - $35 planes that included the Stuka, limited ed. P-51, 21C P-51, Smoke II and others. However at regular price you could do just as well or better in other places, especially when they have sales. BBI AC are often 25% off at BBTS and I know Green Zeros were about $33 after the discount (needless to say, they're gone).
Also BCA is west coast so you may want to consider GoodStuffToGo.net which is in the middle of the country and refunds excess shipping (WOW  ). SmallJoes has good prices on figure sets, BCA on individual figures. Shop around, see what's right for you.
Also consider Wartoyz, ToyFed, MilitaryToyShop and other reputable dealers.

:?: Ok what is BBTS? If it means Blue Box Toy Store then I'm missing it somewhere. Thanks.

Good Stuff to Go looks cool even though their website design isn't too hot.

I've had good luck with Bad Cat, Foxholetoys, Goodstufftogo, TheToyFederation, The Flying Mule, and The Motor Pool. I shop alot with Bad Cat as they are on the west coast and the shipping time is less than two days for me. All these retailers run preorder specials, discounts, etc. on various products at different times, so you can often find what you want and not have to pay an arm and a leg for it :)

Wow, hadn't tried or heard of BBTS (if you mean big bad toy store). Prices look good and with the BBI sherman at $34.99 that's the lowest I've seen. Sold out though, but that makes the point. Thanks Digger!

Make sure to work the sales too when they pop up. Can't recall who but they had a 20% off everything sale and I kept freaking out over what to order (too much, too little, etc..) and missed the whole thing!

I order around and have had good experiences with everyone mentioned. My needs are usually specific so I have to go where the item is more than I go based on preference. :D

to buy

Post by digger » Tue Oct 17, 2006 5:38 am

You can find some PTE at KB online or occassionally at JC Penny online but in general there is no good place to buy it except ebay and in stores (Big Lots, KB, Dollar General)..

As for XD & 32x, I see the sales at SmallJoes are great right now - USMC figures are down to $4-$5, BoB & Pilots are marked down, the Sky Captian P-40 is $30, the Winter Tiger w/2 figs is marked down too. BT P-47s are $40, overall some great deals at the moment.

And sorry to Pilotman - I should have pointed out his store as well as a good option with great customer service.
