Much needed accessories....

Post by grunt1 » Sun Oct 15, 2006 8:44 am

If you were 21C, BBI, AT, Build-o-rama.. what be the first accessories or other smallish items be on your list to produce?

I'd like to see a nice blister pack of helmets (mainly the US tanker helmet) with various markings and some mortars.

I'd like to see the tanker helmets (both WWII and Modern) but then also some modern infantry helmets as well. A new BBI Weapons pack with the new guns & accessories from the new modern figures would be neat. 21c WWII US & German Weapons packs are a must. We need an MG-42, mor potato masher grenades and of course some Panzerfausts.

Then again, regarding the new trend by BBI, & to a lesser extent 21c, of including lots of accessories with the figures, I'm increasingly finding that I have enough of certain weapons like mortars, bazookas, and BAR guns.

US Gas Mask Bags
BAR bandoliers
General purpose ammo bags
US map cases
Floatation belts
Bangalore torpedos
Water Cooled 30cal MG
50cal MG with ammo cans
Custom figure heads
WWII weapon sets

Tents
Tire and wheel packs
Building ruins

Oops.... guess I was getting carried away!

I'd like to see...

U.S. and German weapons packs.

A pack of just heads. (sounds weird lol)

Browning .30 air cooled MG.

Anything else except mortars and .50 MGs since I have a ton from my BBI guys.

I think there could be a ton of different packs that could be done such as
a SEAL pack
Comms pack
Helmet pack
Missile pack (with spare mortar, dragon etc rounds)
It would be very cool to get a few weapons in a pack and a ton of gear to give to the standard figures.

I've got to believe that anyone reading the first posting would (imo) immediately include weapon sets as their first choice and I agree that these are a must. With this however, the best suggestion I can re-enforce is the earlier recommendation that headsets be made available. For example, I liked the articulation of the BBI paratroopers (both wwii and modern) and what I did, for example in the case of the modern figures that were limited to only 2 versions, was to purchase several of them, swap the heads and with the remaining figures break out the 400-grit sandpaper and bash away. If I were to walk into TRU today (using BBI again as an example) and saw a 4-head card on the shelf my very next move would be to drop 4 more paratroopers in my cart.

Over the past 2 months I've purchased 8 US and German 1:6 figures. I was careful to find the figures that I wanted and with what equipment each came along with and was happy when they came in the mail. My next purchase then included the following, and in order of priority:

Carded - 4 head-sculpt package.
Carded - 4-pair "hands" set (ok, maybe not a 1:18 issue)
Carded - Weapon sets (I was very picky and deliberate here)
Carded - 3 seperate WWII US and German assorted helmet sets.
And other misc items.

Now with more equipment and uniforms that I chose and am anxious to use, I need more figures now no? (21c, BBI etc take the hint) My BBI and Dragon soldiers are sporting the 21c Soviet, British and US weapons sets I got from Walmart.

GERMAN POSTERS

Post by Rylau » Sun Oct 15, 2006 11:36 am

http://www.calvin.edu/academic/cas/gpa/posters2.htm For 7thva_hunter there 11 pages of 1/18th scale WWII Nazi posters. Someone on GP posted this link about 4 years ago. Have fun. My want is some WWII African-American drivers and a Red Tail P-51 with pilot. When I was in Nam about 25 % of the troops were black. So far there is one black guy from 21st and about 4 from the various modern BBI lines. I know it's not an accessory but it's been overlooked for a very long time. I'm tired of putting Lando heads on my soldiers. Play nice .....Bob

I completely agree with Steelbonnet's and Scope's list.I would love to also see a pack with US modern M16 assortment. All they pretty much have is the out of scale m4/203.An M4 with a sopmod kit and some M16 a2's or a3's in the correct scale. Also an arm assortment to replace the arms on the older figures whose articulation aint that great. They could have 2 pairs in each of the main color schemes that came out(desert, navy, and woodland).

An assortment of new 1/18 head sculpts would be good. All the other guns and equipment ideas sound good too.

Sorry bout that, when I said mortars I meant German ones. As much as I like Verlinden, paying $20 for a mortar left me feeling a bit.. well you know.. :)

Add a PIAT to the wish list.

Be interesting if they had some support crew sets for both the armor and air. Could include toolboxes, hats, tools, grease cans, or whatever..

Aircraft Ground handling Equipment
HUFFERS
Fire Extingquishers/Gas Bottles like what GMP has for the dragster/muscle cars
Tool Chests
Rivet Guns
Missile/Bomb Carts
NAVY/USAF/NATO/ Ground Crew and Maint People
Pretty much anything you can get in terms of 1/48, 1/32 accessories but translated to 1/18.
...and what about Female 1/18 figures (poseable) haha! Don't get the wrong idea guys, this is legitimate!

I totally agree with more WW2 weapons sets and headsculpts. I'd also like:

Road signs/Military Signage
Vintage European Advertising
Vehicle pennants
Flags ( I know they exist in 1:16 scale)
Pioneer tools
M-1916 Range Finders
M-65 Battery Commander's Telescope
Field Telephones
Radios
Tents
Folding Chairs/Folding Tables
Canvas Cot
Laterns
Electric Starting Trolley Accumulators (Allied and German)
Bomb/Torpedo Trolleys
Bomb Packs
Torpedo Sets
.50 Cal Ammunition Belts
.30 Cal Ammunition Belts
Fuel Truck or Fuel Trailer
Guard House/Check Point
M4A1 Hand Cart
C-Type Aerial Delivery Containers
A-5 Aerial Delivery Containers
Tires (not for motorpool dio but for kit bashing)

Cheers

Somehow I've managed it to loose some of my figures weapons. So far I've lost a MG 42, a MG 34, a StG44, a BAR and a MP40. It would be very cool if I could replace those weapons.
Also I'd like to customize some german Fallschirmjäger in white Winter Uniforms. All I would need for this projekt would be some white german tankers and some Fallschirmjäger-helmets (and thats the big problem). I would be very glad if some carded packs of weapons, helmets and maybe heads would be released. I wish some carded accessorie packs would come with every case of the next figure wave.

I fondly remember the GI Joe Battle Gear accessory packs when I was a kid in the 80's. They were carded and had weapons, helmets, backpacks, stands and other goodies. They were great since I would usually lose all my gear in the sandbox or the carpet.

XD packs like that would be sweeeet! 8)
