Major Von Schnitzel weapon?

What kind of weapon does Major Von Schnitzel carry? I have a WWII encyclopedia but could not find it. Maybe I just over looked it.
It looks like it may be an MP.739(i) aka the Italian Beretta Mo.938A submachine-gun.
MP.739(i) was the German designation for the Italian gun.
