Schleich v. bbi Knights

I was wondering if anyone knows how the two of these compare?

I have been collecting the Schleich Knights because my wife wants to decorate the nursurey in a fairy tale set up (no--no children yet; we are simply pre-planning)

the bbi are a fair bit better in my opinion. Better detailed, painting, sculpts. That said i use both and have both displayed together but the BBI ones are definitely the better quality of the two..

The newer series of the Schleich knights are better than their older series, so they must be feeling the heat from bbi.

I still like both, however.

Thanx, I was hoping they would work well. Now, I can buy some. Are they available brick and mortar, or do I have to buy off the net?

Quixote511, I just got a great deal on a set of 9 bbi Knights, including 2 mounted. My wife and I were shopping tonight at BJ's Wholesale Club (it's like a Sam's Club or Costco - BJ's is a NE regional, I believe), and I was amazed to see this set for $19.99.

I'm collecting the bbi Romans but had not planned on getting any of the Knights. But for around $20 for 9 figures, I could not pass it up. As my wife said, "Get them, or you'll regret it."

Maybe some of the other wholesale clubs have them too, if you don't have a BJ's in your area.

cool

Thanx! Well, I hope they stick around for a while then. I am originally from Buffalo and there is a BJ's out in the burbs I can check when I go to visit my sis and her fam this Christmas.

Glad it was news you can use!

Quixote511:

BJ's seems to have their at least some of their Christmas toys out now, so I'll bet the bbi Knights set will be available there for the next couple of months.

Has anyone seen the Castle Tower for the knights?

I found it at Targets marked down to 30.00 from 43.00
It looks like it will work well for a German Nazi Castle...

Razor17019:

Good deal on the $30! I received the tower as a Father's Day gift this year. I'd been on the fence about it, so that resolved the issue! It's pretty nice - I've kept it in the box so far, but I can see uses for it for Romans, Knights, WWII, and maybe even Modern.

I see the bbi Knights are going to be 3 for 10 on TRU.com soon :D Not bad, especially when they have free shipping. If they get the Romans I may be in trouble.. :P

How soon do you foresee this happening? I might have to stock up.

They have them now:

I would be suspect but I remember Amazon had a similar deal right before they split with TRU. Actually on Amazon I think they were marked further - maybe to about $7 for 3, but that was towards the bitter end when stock was low and deals were absurd. Huge $40 playsets were down to like 6 or 8 bucks. I was thinking about King Kong island for my Marines to mess around on...

I just found three castle towers at $10.00 a piece.

I was waiting for them to go down - now to wait for the tents to drop in price... Do any of the targets sell the castle wall parts or the steps?

Now I'm really glad I picked up the set of 9 Knights at BJ's a few weeks ago. We were at the same store this morning, and all of them were gone.
