ME-109 series 1 canopy

Post by bigsarge » Tue Sep 19, 2006 11:54 pm

I am not sure if it is me or if 21st messed up but on 2 of my original me-109 planes the canopy does not have the cross brace painted on it as on later models.Anyone else see this besides me?I will post a pic if I can.

Sarge, your correct 21st original 109's did not have all the braces painted on the canopy. I have 2 109's on the first the front is painted but the sides and top are clear. On the second I picked up a year later the canopy was fine. Seems in the early days of XD there were many Quilty control problems.

I don't think that was a quality control issue (the same issue was on the 32x version of the 109); I they simply ignored it until they realised people wanted more accuracy. I remember trying to figure out how to paint those bars on accurately and then they started issuing them correctly. And then I was happy...

There is huge difference from S1 109E to the new G-6's.
