Firebase: "Kitchen Table"

Post by dfoos » Thu Sep 14, 2006 9:53 pm

Welcome to Firebase: "Kitchen Table" grunt!

Got the PTE watch tower at the new Big Lots in my area today.

It's a steal for $8.00.

I had to pull the grenade launcher and replace it with a .50.

I also found the trooper on horse and camel. Horse went to a German officer and camel is being saved for DAK troops.
I also found some sets of figs that are about on par with "The Corps" called Storm Heroes, they had some ridiculous vehicles and unrealistic weapons, but I likes the barricade thingees. They are the ones in the picture with the green and white camo tops. I'll tone those down when I paint them OD. Worth the price just for those.

Storm Heroes. How much did you pay to get the barricade? I like the looks of it. What all came with it?

$12.00 per set. They both came with a barricade (one sand bags and one barrels). Each came with a vehicle (really fantasy, something like old GI Joe fantasy military vehicles). Each came with a soldier (about the same size and type as "The Corps") As a matter of fact, they are almost indistinguishable from them except "The Corps" figs have more articulation. These figs only move at shoulders and groin. (arms go up and down and legs go back and forth). They also had some accessories like a big crate with the circle and star symbol (as in WWII) on them with 3 oversized weapons each. I gave the figs, weapons and vehicles to my 6 year old daughter who likes to be like Daddy and play with soldiers. She now has her own set of stuff to play with. (and hopefully that means her and her friends will keep their little mitts of my good stuff :) ). I'll try to post a pic or two of the packaging before It goes out in the recycling bin tomorrow.

Hope this helps.

OK, sorry, they are $11.00 not $12.00.
They are called Soldier Force, Series V Storm Heroes.
The box has printing on it that says distributed by Big Lots. I wonder if it is an exclusive.

Here are pics of the packaging.

Yes, I have seen these in my local Big Lots. I liked the P-40 they had (shark face on plane) although very toy like. But those barricades look really nice. Thanks for the heads up on this! :D

Wow, I believe this toyline is available in germany, too. It's a cool diorama you've build, dfoos, but this situation isn't very fair for this poor single Vietcong.
