Thought I'd share with you all this image I took at the Planes of Fame Museum last Saturday when I was there for the volunteer lunch. They all loved the FW-190 (many collect the XD line, but are as frustrated with the lack of planes at wal-mart as most of you are) since most had never seen it before. They had just moved hte P-51D 'Spam Can' inside the hanger... so I put the FW-190 down in front of the 'Cal Aero Field' hanger and snapped this low shot. That's a F7F-3N Tigercat in the background.

Good use of perspective! Too bad there aren't any flying examples of the FW-190D9 (or any 190s for that matter). One painted in those colors of JV-44 would draw attention at any airshow!

The first replica FW-190A took to the air October 1st... but it's a replica. Much like the Stormbird ME-262s

The Tiger Cat was one powerful plane. Finally got a chance to see one ("Big Boss Man") in flight last summer. Fantastic!

Time to bust out the big fan and take pictures! Pretty cool the Corsair moved backwards in the strong wind - imagine what an even lighter plane (FW-190, ME-109) would have done!

Great shots Britt! Too bad you didn't have the pilots in the seats, hehehehe. Wonderful, though!!

Thanks everyone! I use a Canon Rebel.... but I've been doing aviation photos for many many years now and as most of you know am going into it professionally soon. It was easy to work with aircraft on the smaller scale as such.
Ski... there's actually a pilot in the Corsair... you just can't see him well. The P-38, however, does not have a pilot due to a leg problem that I put him aside to fix. We'll just say that he started the plane... but forgot a important document... so he jumped out and ran over to get it leaving the engine going

LOL! Next time, have the Corsair's canopy slid back and the pilot leaning out. That would look cool!

Nice shot of the Corsair. All you would have needed to make the photo more realistic is the smoke coming from the stacks!

Not nessessarly

Just moments before I was shooting a real F4U-1A Corsair that started up and took off... and the photos look realllly close to that. The smoke subsides after a few moments. But you are correct if it was on start-up! We'll say the shot is of the corsair coming in... just after taxiing back right before he cut the engines!
I just went out and took some Blue Angel (BBi) photos with the reflections in the rain water (we're having some major storms here in California for all who don't know). I'll try and get some up here soon.

In the United States there are 2 FW190d9s that I know of. One is the AF Museum, at Wright-Patterson, the other (the only flying condition one) is at Falcon Field, Mesa Arizona at the Champlin Fighter Museum. It was undergoing refurbishment two years ago. I am not sure of its status now.
The owner no longer flys the plane, but supposedly it could be flown. I've stood on the wing of it and looked into the cockpit. Nice plane.

Great photos Britt!!! You gotta mod those tanks, though

, hehehehehe. The F-18 looks really cool with the BA scheme. A lot better than I would of thought. Nice and clean........

Great photos.
I thought I would bump this back up to the top, so those who are new to this board could see them.
