Are there any other ME-109 available other than Dark and Tropical and Galland? I'd like to purchase one. Spinach and Sand would be OK, but it's not possible to find? What paint schemes are available and where could I find a good price? Please don't respond with anything containing the terms 'e' and 'bay'
Thanks

This should be in the trader forum, regarding the purchasing part, but there is the origional "White 12" version. That was one of the first 1:18 XD aircraft and was a TRU exclusive release only. The paintscheme was actually done rather well and unlike alot of the later aircraft releases, did not have any serious paint flaws - save that the tail swastika was replaced with a black diamond. They can be found, sometimes for decent prices, on ebay

Other than that, the "Galland" and "Tropical" variants are the most easy to come by with the online retailers, and the "Nachtjager" (Dark) version still seems to pop up at a few isolated Wal Marts around the country. The "Spinach" cammo version is rare and difficult to come by and you will have to pay for it. There was a sand-colored version, but that was only a prototype that made it out for sale and was never actually in production.

what do you mean? for example the tulip paint scheme is bf-109g-6 but the tropical is me-109g-6?

by Moth
Tropical is not a G-6, it is a ME-109E-4

The Seeman/Rall/Sahl/Hackle are G-6's

ME is the designation for early 109's, BF is for late-war 109's

What is a tulip scheme? never saw that one :?

Yeah he looks to be talking about a Me 109 "E" flat spinner and no gun humps on the engine cover, not the "G" Model with all the new repaints

That's the S1 XD BF-109G6, modeled after a plane flown by Herman Graf. I lacks some of the modifications made to the later XD BF-109Gs.

How come you never saw one? It was first avaliable at the small retailers and nearly every Wal Mart in the west stocked up on them, and then when they didn't sell well, stocked up on some more - and that was all about a year ago! The four Wal Marts in my town in California alone still have at least 2-4 of those planes and no Avengers or Migs :?

Bf was the designation for all early Messerschmitt designed planes.....it was eventually changed to Me to placate Willi Messerschmitt, who did all the design work for the company.

Catman if you're looking for a 109G then the Sahl version is the best, in that it is the most 'typical' wartime looking 109G available.

No problem! I was sort of suprised when you indicated you hadn't heard of it. Guess that like many products, it goes by several different names among us collectors...
