The biggest rush for me is when I've ran accross something I'm interested in marked way down at Wal-mart,...and also have found a "hard to find" item. Whether that item has been discounted or not. ....

When I snoop at WM, I always tell myself, "bargains or new stuff only!"

I'm currently in a position that my free time is SEVERLY limited, so I'm not able to check WM/Target/et al regularly, and since I don't have kids, I'm not in them on a regular basis for regular shopping, so I'm buying 90% of my stuff online...

I like surprises at Walmart especially when It's something I didn't expect for a while.

I love walking into a Wal Mart and finding something no one has seen before (it happened with the Tropical Stuka and BH Corsair) or walking in and finding all the new stuff freshly stocked that everyone else has already found 8)

Just finding new stuff after it's been reported sighted elsewhere. :D

Seeing new XD or bbi stuff on smalljoes.com!! And then getting it on my doorstep a couple days later!! No more wasting time running around to WM's only to come out empty handed!!

Typically when I'm "expecting" a parcel, I'm not generally suprised, however when I walk into Walmart and cruise the aisles, not finding what I'm looking for in the place(s) it should be, and I decide I need some CDR's, only to find the overstock bin packed with new 1:18 aircraft, including the beautiful Avenger, then I'm suprised! or perhaps when I find 3 Ridge Runner Mustans stacked in the clearance aisle, thinking surely it's a mistake, and take one to the scanner to find out it's mismarked as 1:32 Assortment (or something of the like) for $14.96, that suprises me..lol

Well as i`m in Jolly olde England & we don`t have a Walmart & there tends NOT to be anything new I had to say Suprise package at the door.

After all if it wasn`t for you Wonderfull LOT I`d NOT have half the things I do have now :D

So that is the Bigger Surprise to me the Package at the door :D

Though a Total Suprise would be XD,BBI,PTE,etc AVAILABLE Locally to me HAHAHA

Ja
Steel bonnet

I would have to say shipping. Most if my collection was bought online.
But I am starting to convert slowly to the Wal-Mart experience...Just wished they would get off their buts and get the Mig out of the stock room.

The only real Surprise I have is not seeing the what aircraft they have in the stock room not put out yet.
One thing I do like about Wal-Mart is “NO SHIPPING FEES”

A surprise on the shelf is definitely more exciting. However, an item that was backordered 6 weeks previously suddenly showing up can also elicit the same reaction. 8)

what item are you talking about?

I ordered a SureFire flashlight back in June that turned out to be a backordered item. It showed up about 2 weeks ago out of the blue. I didn't even receive a shipping confirmation e-mail. That was a pleasant surprise.

Otherwise, I expect something I ordered to show up. No surprise there.

WOW man your WWII Wal-Mart patrol image had me rolling!

I love that! Me and a couple friends in my area collect this stuff and we totally feel like that on the weekends as we scout for new stuff!

Had to vote for the shelf. If the other option was discovering an item at an online store that might have gotten my vote not only because by the time it is on your door you're expecting it, but also because when there is something I like I usually need more than what is on the shelf.. 8) I love the idea that some online stores have a warehouse full and my limit is defined by finances and sanity (which are both suspect at times so they cancel each other out :P ).

What gave me the biggest "rush" was opening the package from my favorite online retailer and finding a Wal-Mart price sticker on the XD box for 39.98

 :? :( :x

But what the hay... I am happy to add another plane to the collection. :)

TKO - glad to hear it! If the Russians ever invade then the government should know who to tap for City wide recon duty! :-D

I would say one of the worst feelings is standing in line with a cart fully loaded with XD that you found on super clearance and having to answer all of the questions.

- Do you have a lot of sons?
- Christmas shopping early?
- Do you collect that stuff?
- Whoaa.. dude..

The looks are worse..

But the prize.. ahh.. that makes it all worth it..

I love finding new stuff or stuff on ultra clearance. When I load up the cart with ultra clearance stuff I do get the same thing that grunt1 mentioned. My basket full of 6 $2 FW 190s or 6 $5 Bf-109s comes to mind.
