How do you dust your planes?

Last night I noticed that some of my planes on my top shelf were looking a little dusty. I used a really soft cloth that came with my eye glasses to clean them, and that worked great. How do you keep your planes looking great? :D

I dust them about once a month, but I've really never paid attention... Those cans of compressed air work very well for dusting the planes, as does a soft feather-duster. You want to be careful dusting a canopy as it can scratch. Dusty planes just don't look right

My armor is a different story. I like a little layer of dust on my tanks and ground vehicles as it gives them a touch of realism. The actual vehicles would be covered in at least a little dirt!

I use a big model paint brush, the biggest i could find. It lasts a long time, works well in all the nooks and crannies and is very soft and supple, so no danger of scratching clear canopies etc.

I usually just blow off the major dust first, with my mouth and then finish up with the paint brush. Takes about 10-15 minutes for a 1/18 plane....plus i get a nice little head rush from the blowing.

Armour i dust less often, like Tman says, i think a layer of house dust looks kinda good on them. Takes away the toyish sheen they have.

Keyboard brushes work well. They can be found at most computer supply houses. They are very soft , but firm enough to get into the small places.

I use my G/F unused make up brushes, and yes I caught an ear full from her,,,,what can I say, I noticed they where dusty and I looked all over the house for something and there it was, glowing at me in a drawer. I was over whelmed with glee as I started to dust my military aircraft with the war face applicators that my G/F uses. HAHHHHAAHAHAHA!

well if you have bought any makeup you'd realize why she was screaming!

Make up is outrageous! $7 for lipstick!

I have used the swiffer brush for lite work. Everything else is boxed or in cabinets. Can air duster, or water hose.

The best way is to repackage it and take it back to walmart and get a new fresh minted one :D

Yeah, get a Swiffer brush. It is the best thing I have found for my "fleet maintence ops". This thing picks up the dust and holds it, unlike a brush. Its pretty easy on delicate items such as antennas and pitot tubes as well.

Revlon Face Styling brushes come in different sizes from very small for 1/35 figures to about 1 1/2 inches for the planes and vehicles. These are the softest brushes available and will not scratch the clear plastic. Been using these for 25 years on my vintage Star Wars ships. Thanks to my wife. Regards.......Bob

Ive actually trained my 1:18 figs to clean the planes. If they're going to live in my house rent free the least they could do is clean their own planes. The stuka pilot is always finding excuses not too, but I said look, if your old enough to hold a pistol your old enough to hold a dust cloth. Plus if the gunner helped out, it would take half the time!

I have found that if you set up your planes or vehicles and troops on the floor or low surface before you go to work, when you arrive home they will be partially dusted and the troops will all be sleeping. Sometimes they may be scattered as if having had a small encounter with no survivers!

The funning thing is, the CAT is laying nearby with what looks like a smile on its face. If only he could talk and tell me what happened!

I am big into the swiffer handheld. It is soft enough to do the job well.

I use the faucet on my built plastic kits and let them drain in the dish holder. Guess I'll try it on one of my 1/18 planes.

Stop by a cosmetics store or an art supply store or your wifes makeup cabinet and pickup a large mop paint brush. Make sure you wrap some sort of tape around the metal band as not to scratch.
