Why no Thunderbird F-16?

Post by Sabrefan » Tue Aug 15, 2006 7:53 am

Seems to me that BBI would make a version of their F-16 in the Thunderbirds paint scheme. Or maybe Badcat would have a limited run of these. Does anyone know if there was ever talk of a Thunderbird F-16? What a nice looking model that would be. :D

I've never heard any talk about making one, but I agree it would be nice! Afterall, BBI made a limited Blue Angels F-18, so why not do an F-16? There would be buyers.

I thought someone had mentioned the Blue Angel wasn't as good of a seller as expected, so that killed the Thunderbird version. I would have liked to see it, though.

I desperately wanted one of the Blue Angels F-18's until I got one. The paint lines are not crisp, there's tons of overspray and in some places not enough paint was applied. Now imagine the kind of quality control problems that could arrise from a complex 3 color scheme like the Thunder Chickens use.

I do remember Badcat clearancing the Blue Angels F-18. I thought they were pretty nice and since the F-16 was a little more detailed it would translate well with a Thunderbirds theme. I don't have those QC problems with my F-18 Blue Angels bird it looks crisp.

My Blue Angels bird has one of the "not so crisp" paint jobs, but I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
