Whats Up With 21st And Bad Cat?

After reading the explanation of why Bad Cat wont have the Avengers on their website I sence some animosity (or however you spell it!). In the explanation Bad Cat said 21st breached a distribution agreement and and gave orders to a large scale discount retailer? Wow! I even saw 21st's name on where you find their items near the bottom of the list. I hope these two companies can mend their differences over the Avenger thing because BOTH are first class companies. I dont know if this has been discussed before and if it has I apologize. I just wanted to know what the deal was.

I think "some" animosity might be an understatement.
I imagine that 21C cost BCA quite a bit of money in lost sales, (and time - issuing refunds, etc., which for a small business is ALSO money) on the Avenger deall.
As you say, hopefully this is a one-time, short-term thing which will be resolved and a good relationship restored.

Dont hold your breath!. The big (I wont mention names) discount retailer always gets the new product months before the rest of us dealers even gets the pre-order form from 21st C. A matter of fact. There where times I stumbled across new products on the shelvs before I even got word from my sells rep at 21st C. And that big discount retail store sell the same items for a bout $2.00 above cost on what the rest of us retailers pay. So some times I will get my inventory from WM. Im not as big as some of ther other online dealers on this site, a matter afact Im very small but Im legit and buy direct from the toy companys. but sinec Im small some times i dont need a case of 1 plane and the few bucks above whole sale I pay at WM would have gone to shipping anyway.

I noticed that 21st was moved down to the bottom also, and was wondering the same thing myself.

it's just in alphabetical order now, rather than alpha-numeric like it was before..

LOL: Kinda reminds me of the Seinfeld episode about "speed dials"
For those who haven't see it, Seinfeld found out where he was ranked when he discovered that his number wasn't the first Speed dial on his girl friends phone.
Anyway, I really wouldn't stress about it at all. Pretty soon there will be more Avengers, the new F-86, MiG-15, more Mustangs and the new Me-262's. At some point the e-tailers have to start promoting and selling those products. To be in the business of selling 1:18 scale planes means you carry and sell 21st products. Bad Cat Rob or anyone else for that matter isn't going to cutt of thier nose to spite thier face.
I recently ordered 21st product from Bad Cat with no problems or anything. It wasn't like BC was saying "sorry we can't sell you any 21st product, pick something else." So my point is that they are obviously still buying product from 21st and selling it to us fans.
I just hope Bad Cat picks up the Bunker Hill Avenger again I will be one of the first ones to place another pre-order! But, that's just me.

That's the problem with only one major player in the game. 21st can treat the little guys like crap knowing that they'll still buy their product just to stay in business. Then there’s Wal-Mart who has forced so many places out of business and people have become so accustomed to the dirty stores and the mindless employees that no one even notices it any more. It’s really a sad commentary on American culture that we’ve given up good service and knowledgeable sales people for the sake of “One stop shopping.”

well....21st starts with a 't' and 21st century is now slotted in where a name beginning with 't' would be.

Well, Dragon, starts with a
D and is slated right after...
Hobby Master and right before
Corgi, so that's why I asked what alphabet you were referring to...

I'm pretty sure
Witty Wings would come after
Twenty-First in our alphabet.

hey the changed it again. Last time i looked (a couple of weeks ago) all those companies were in alphabetical order, now they're somewhat random and 21st has slipped closer to the bottom...ha.
