From a previous discussion on "ebay finds"...

EDIT - Also the Fw-190 is the most uncommon version only found at WM not online retailers, hence the difference.
Is the same bird they are talking about?? I dunno, it looks the same to me, but I am no expert on all these different versions and such.....

Yes, they are the same airplane. The Blue 12 turned out to be Black 12 on the 21C offering. The tail code number is "500570". This is the Fw-190D which has the "patch work" undersurface, that is, mismatched panels showing hasty field repair issues and the lack of parts toward the end of WWII for Deutschland.
This offering is a totally excellent bird and is highly recommended by this Luftwaffe fan.
Hope this helps. BTW, as was pointed out by this fan, several months ago, ALL the Fw-190D's produced by 21C exhibited the same goof up on the fuselage step, on the port side; the step angle is installed 180 degrees opposite of what it should be-when the airplane is on the ground with the step extended for use, the step, as installed by 21C would have been very awkward to use in real life. The black men, as the ground crew was known (usually dressed in black coveralls), would have been VERY busy with their field retrofits!
HOWEVER, all the Fw-190D's are beauties, none the less.

yes that's black 12, the same one catman and digger were discussing. It's a nice patchy, late war paint scheme(supposed to be patchy).

Yes, they are the same airplane.
OK Gents, thank you both for your responses, and Der Vogelfanger... thanks for the detailed info, much appreciated. Cheers,

indeed guys. that one i showed you guys is at 75 right now.. seriosuly amazing..
mine i bought off handedly for myself, still thinking of weather or not to keep it. then i bought a bunch of stuff and now have to sell off some of my other stuff. seeing as a 40 dollar plane is at 75 on ebay with 9 hours left, i listed mine for 45 hoping it would sell. i really dont want it and i need some money..

Yeah $75, and that does not even include the shipping... looks like it could end up costing someone $90+ to bring this thing home. Honestly, I had no clue that these were rare or "uncommon" , I really was not looking to sell it but if someone offered me a good price or had something nice to trade for it, I would certainly consider it.

Wow, $75 is alot. Black 12 was the only one i could find for a long time.
Repainted one a few months back, infact.

....was not aware that the Black 12 was "rare", either. My local WM's had them stocked sooo full, they looked like Lemmings multiplying before your very eyes.
Regardless, this airplane is really interesting, patch-work-wise. If one is a Fw-190D fan, this is a "must have".

There are still many sitting on the shelves in my AO....
But I agree with the above said comments that this is the best one of the bunch..

While i give it points for the interesting patchwork lower wing surfaces, i like "Chevron" best of all. It would've been nice if the paint apps had came out as great as the protos.

Of all the FW-190D-9s (minus the Germany exclusive) the Black / Blue 12 is the most rare. Only about 1/2 as many of that sheme were produced. I think this is my favorite 190 scheme.

It also makes a huge difference in the final price if the seller is willing to ship worldwide. Those overseas bidders get crazy.
