Awesome model, but was the nose art on both sides? I only remember it being on the left hand side if looking from the pilot seat. Does anyone know? Thanks

I send a message to the seller and asked why they don't have a 1/18 scale crew manning that bomber? I asked them if they knew there were companies that made 1/18 military figures. I am curious what kind of response I willl get.

yes, we are aware that other companies make 1/18 crew. But other companies can not compete with us in quality and level of detail. We believe that figures would spoil the artistic impression of our models.


If the 1/18 scale B-17 nose is going for $3400.00 plus, I wonder what 1 1/18scale crewman would go for?

WOW didn`t think it would go due to pricing no matter how detailed it was.

if that excites you then you can buy a whole 1/18 B-17 fuselage for about $160. You'll have to paint and detail it yourself but since your saving about $3250 and getting more of the plane, probably not a bad way to go..

You need to get both the fuselage and the 'top hatch' which is basically the top part of the forward fuselage.

i think it's molded fiberglass.....not wood for sure. Quite nicely shaped but you'll need to cut out windows etc as well as completely detail the interior. You should also get the vacuformed parts too, which are nose blister, turrets etc.

well the trouble with the model is that you have to make the wings and all tail surfaces yourself. They give you plans and inst'ns but thats about it.

The fuselage is nice though, eh..

So what do they mean by wing cores? Is it just foam or something? The finished product looks good but the wings look like they need detailing. I must say I am considering this kit.

they give you squared off blocks of styrofoam that you build the wing around, out of plywood. Same for the tailfin and for the horizontal stabilizers. You need to be fairly handy with woodworking to do a proper job as you need to make formers and then sheet it all with thin plywood.

if you go to www.rcgroups.com/forums and look in either the electric warbird forum of the scale electric forum there is a build thread going on for this EAM B-17 and you can see for yourself what is involved.

These folks must be new distributors for HpH Ltd model products from Czechslovkia. Check out their website http://www.hph.cz. I tried to email them several months ago to see if they were interested in selling after market 1/18 products scale but my mail would never deliver to there company email address. Absolutely no question HpH products rock.

Sure makes $70 for the Avenger look like peanuts!
