I would love to see one made in 1:18 scale
In fact I would love to see all the Grumman Cats made!!!

"The Grumman F7F Tigercat was the first twin-engined fighter aircraft design to enter service with the United States Navy. Designed for the new Midway class aircraft carriers, the aircraft were too large to operate from earlier decks. Most F7Fs ended up in land-based service, as attack aircraft or night fighters; only the later F7F-4N was certified for carrier service. Yup, so is the P-38 and the P-61
the F7 did not make it in to WWII

Correction it did fight in the end of WWII but like the P-61 it did not have many targets to engage, since the reason it did not make much of an impact on the out come of the war.

Would make a good choice for the contest. I don't really care for it, but that is just me. There are others I would like to see before odd planes like this one.

yeah that is a sexy plane. I like the shorter nosed one but that is a sweet build on that model.

Personally, I would love to see one in XD or 32x, or best yet both scales...If my memory serves me well (a very iffy proposition), there is one of these in the USMC museum at Quantico...I visited there back in the '90s, it's a super cool place to check out if you got a little time to kill...I hope it's still open to the public...

Yeah, the Tigercat would make a splendid subject for an XD model, but take a look at the second set of pics you posted, the ones from warbirds, see how small the pilot and ground crewman look compared to the aircraft?? The T-Cat is a BIG airplane, almost as big as WWII medium bomber, it would be a HUGE 1/18th scale model, and I think that fact is what dooms it for any consideration as a future project from 21C or any other manufacturer. Oh well, there is no harm in dreaming I suppose, nice pics too.

Not much bigger than a P-38.
I would love to have a F7F as well as any "Cat" in 1/18.

There quite impressive with the 2 R-2800's roaring.

The F7F Tigercat is an awesome twin engine plane. But I would really like to see an 1/18th scale F8F Bearcat.
