NEW CUSTOM CONTEST!!!

Post by KAMIKAZE » Tue Jul 25, 2006 1:03 am

It's about time we had another contest guys. This purpose of this contest is to see which one of you can build the best new twin engined aircraft in 1/18th scale.
You may use any material you wish.

The contest ends September 15 so get busy.

Prizes: Bad Cat Aviation Toys has graciously donated an F-86 Sabre, also I
personally will give a $200.00 Bad Cat Gift certificate and a 1/18th scale Germany Exclusive Panzer IV ( the one you never see on evil bay).
Winner gets it all.

Good luck gentlemen and thanks to Bad Cat Aviation for supporting this second contest.

This contest's purpose is to create a plane not currently made by a major supplier. Pby, Me-110, Lancaster, B-26 ect. There are a ton of aircraft to choose from. It can be from any time period. I hope you have fun making your aircraft.

Moth,
You enter the contest by saying I'm in.

Jason,
If you were not from one of the suppliers... I think you have unprecedented access to a few chinese master mold makers. You could donate a new Me-262 though(hint hint).

Hang on, how is the contest judged? Being from overseas do I have to send the completed model in, or is it by photo's?

Uh, Lancaster? The only Lancaster I know was the WWII British bomber... the big four-engined thing...

On the gripping appendage, I'm always willing to learn about new aircraft :)

I'm thinking of ideas now. The only thing I am a little concerned about is to have it done by Sept 15th. But hey, what's a little pressure.

Do you have to send in the model?
If so, will you get it back?

Avro Lancaster a real peach, was first an Avro Manchester with 2 lemon engines, (i think they were called Vulture's :? )so build that, then after contest put 2 more engines & change them to Merlins and you would have a great plane :D

You guys don't have to send in the plane. Just post a few pictures of the completed model with maybe a 1/18th next to a 1/18th scale figure for comparison. I will judge the winner.
Bye the way, the last contest winner was Hardensteel from Vancover B.C. So if you live in Australia or New Zealand and you win, it is no problem.

Thanks

This has to be 1/18th? I build 1/48th B-17's alot and have won many contests with them. Right now I plan on building the Famous "Nine O Nine" but it wont be 1/18th scale because where in the world would I find parts to do that?!

So if I can build a 1/48th B-17G then count me in and if not well count me out.

The plane must be 1/18th scale and it must have at least 2 engines. I hope that some of your customs might spur the development of a twin engine plane by Admiral, 21st Century, or BBI toys.

How about a British mosquito made out of Popsicle sticks, that would take months to do. :D
I don’t think there is enough time for any one to make a 1:18 scale twin engine aircraft. :(
Unless you Bought an RC kit

I would call that cheating, but that's just me, Kamikaze decides here.

My opinon is, I dont like the idea because, people who can actually build something great like this, can be outclassed because someone with minimal skill bought and touched up an already made replica.
