Your first XD ever

A recent post made me think about my first XD.
My first was a 1/18 Command Car, given to me by my son as a birthday present because we once owned one, and he learned to drive it as soon as he learned how to operate the throttle, he couldn't reach the petals at that time and stopped by turning off the ignition. . I really don't know how many CC's I have right now, 1/18 and 1/6. At least five or six 1/18 and I think four 1/6 (blsed stuff is in the attic, I loose count).
Up until that time I was not a toy collector.
What was your first XD, and do you still have it?

My first piece was the S1 Stuka. I saw them when I was shooping for my niece and nephew. I remembered building the model with my dad---painting a yellow spiral on the spinner. So, I just had to have it. And, I have been hooked ever since.

S1 Panther. I was collecting 6 inch figures at the time XD came out and was a bit frustrated by the lack of military and the lack of vehicles in the scale. I debated for a while before moving to 1/18 and the Panther was my first piece, very quickly followed by the rest of the S1 stuff.

My first one was a S1 SDKFZ 251/D. I found it in a shop and when back home, I started to search on the web about 21st Century...

My first one{s} were the 1st series Nam {Navy Seal and 101st} and then both the 1st series WW2 Americans and Germans. As a child I longed for 3 3/4 inch WW2 figures, due to my facination, even at an early age, about that subject. When the Paras came, U.S. and German....I almost cryed!

Series 1 US infantry and jeep. Somehow, I heard these were coming out a few months before the release, and couldn't wait for them. Actually, the quality of the first series nearly turned me off of 21C. But then the Vietnam series came out - that was absolute heaven!

I'm pretty new to XD, so as a result, my first vehicle was the S1 RC Panzer IV. My first non-rc XD was the CC. I have both, the Panzer is now in North African livery, and the CC is in pieces. I still have all of the pieces though. lol

I first encountered 21st Century 1/18 items @ TRU.
I would go in there and look around when they had HUGH shelves of toys.
They had the WWII S1 soldiers, but I just could not see paying 5.99 each.
So, one birthday I got $50.00 from the parents. I happened on a sale at TRU - the WWII figs were 2.98, found the Vietnam Huey for 21.99 and the TOW Mutt.
So, my first "diorama" was 6 Germans trying to take over a Vietnam Huey helicopter from the pilot and a Mutt driver.

I didn't get any of the main VN figs until later.
I still have the S1 Germans and Huey. I found I didn't like the TOW Mutt, so it went bye-bye a long while ago.
As a side note, before I even knew about 1:18 Ultimate Soldier airplanes- I found S1 P51 and S1 Messerschmitt at the local goodwill store and passed on them both...

My first was the S1 P-51 Mustang "Lou IV" found at a TRU while on a roadtrip in late 2000
Seeing that along with the ME-109, the Sherman and Panther got me pschyed! I was only an aircraft collector until I saw the M-48 and Huey, then my collection sort of went from there...
I still have my S1 P-51, even though it is no longer at my house, but in my father's office at the FAA district headquarters for Central California. Although much better looking P-51s have come along, I have no plans to get rid of it.

My first was the D-Day P-38 Lightning I found at TRU when I went to go buy a video game with my brother. I was shocked to find it since I had no idea XD even existed.

I got my S1 P-51 back in July, 2001 when I PCSed back to the US from the UK. I had seen the planes on the internet and I couldn't wait until I could get my mits on them. Of course, I had to have all of the vehicles and figures as well! The rest is financial ruin!

Lou IV Mustang as a conversation piece for my office. It pretty much just sat there looking cool for two years. Then my home office needed something and the BBI Apache fit the bill.
Wasn't until I spotted the S1 marines in force at a local WM that the crack really took hold and now it's pretty much out of control.

First for me was the S1 Panther, followed soon by the Sherman and the BF-109. All of these are long since sold off, but somehow I've still managed to amass a garage full of 1:18 military. My standing orders are:
new items or bargains only....

I first spotted the 1/18 Sherman on some website that I cant recall. I then found and purchased the original Sherman and Panther at TRU. I decided not to buy any planes or figures when I first saw them but changed my mind later. I still have both tanks.

I went to TRU in the Spring of '02 looking to get my daughter something. I noticed the D-Day P-38 hanging from the ceiling from about 2 aisles down. I bought it and took it home and put it together (instead of studying). The next day I went back and bought the Stuka and Corsair.
(I don't recall if I bought my daughter anything that day or not.)

STARTED WITH 6 X 1/18 DRAGON FIGURES & WENT SEARCHING FOR 1/18 VEHICLES TO COMPLIMENT. FOUND A BUSINESS CALLED KOOLCOLLECTABLES USA WHO HAD WHAT LOOKED LIKE I NEEDED. ON 13TH NOV 2001 I ORDERED A XTREME KUBELWAGON & PANTHER TANK & WHEN THEY CAME I WAS WRAPPED SEEING THEM UP CLOSE & PERSONAL. FOUND THE GROUNDPOUNDERS SITE SHORTLY AFTER & THE REST IS HISTORY. MY 1/18 HAS SWEPT EVERYTHING AWAY IN ITS PATH.
