Hi all,
Just wondering IF anyone has either seen one at 1/18th or Moreso Has anyone custom made a 250/9?
Also does anyone had a scale ref of the 250/9 next to a 251??
I`m hoping to get some XD 251s later in the year but would love to have a 250/9 too (one of my fav Recce vehicles of WWII).
Just for those not clear a 250/9 is this one......
Thank`s & Hope you can help

nothing i know of......it's quite a bit smaller than the 251 so you'd pretty much have to scratch build it, a custom from a 251 isn't really possible.
I doubt we'll see one in 1/18, to be honest, since it looks so similar to the 251.
If you want to scratch one buy a paper model of one (1/25 scale) blow it up to 1/18 and use it as a pattern. The wheels and tracks will be tricky though.....they're noticably smaller on the 250 as compared to the 251.

Size between the two half-tracks is important to their looks.
I'm biased to the 250, especially the "Armor Hobbies" 250 kit, which I think is a terrific toy.
The 250/9 AH version has been done and is popular with 1/6 guys who have the 250.
A nicely done one is:

I haven't built mine yet, I keep changing my mind as to what version I want, first I wanted a 37mm mounted, then the 2.8cm, or the Pak-40, now I don't do anything and I keep waiting for the lightening bolt and mine is still in the box, acting as a dust magnet.

Thank`s very much for the replies Aferg & TTT
Now the Paper model is an idea I hadn`t thought of,thank`s mate
I am well aware there is a size difference just wanst sure how much nor was i planning on using a 251 to convert as I`ll be happy just getting some 251s for my Jerries
One vehicle base I had thought of for converting to a 251/9 was the A-Team Armoured car....
I know it`s a 6 wheeler though the rear can be customized to tracks instead & add the turret is already there too.
Maybe a perfect base to build on?
TTT WOW mate a 1/6 version very nice mate.
Thank`s Very much for the link too that`s Bloody awesome

Though must admit I`ve taken a LOT of the 1/6th 250/9 photos I can find to use for ref material

Along with any actual 1:1 versions too
Again guys thank`s for replying & LMK what you think to the idea of using the A Team Armoured car as base to build on.

Aferg,
Alas mate i`m not sure as i`ve yet to get one. Saw these on ebay & thought they maybe worth while getting some to try converting.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/A-TEAM-TANK-ARMOR ... dZViewItem
It looks promising though the size maybe either a tad smaller or spot on.
I think looking at the A-team armoured car it maybe better aimed at being a LATE war version too or at least easier to do that version.
IF anyone HAS this please put the dimensions up here please

hmm.....looks pretty small if that's a 3 3/4 inch figure. If it's a 6 inch figures it's huge.
Depending on its size it might be a good base for a sdkfz 231 6 rad armored car too. In either case it would either be a lot of work converting or you'd need a very flexible imagination.

The figure is a 3 3/4 Face figure in it.
I`m thinking of getting it anyway & then we`ll see what I can do with it.
If it IS smaller than an actual 250/9 well depending on scaled down 250/9 dimensions. That will depict the amount of work needed.
Worse case a From scratch is another option, though back to your Paper model version. Aferg you know where I can see/get the 250/9 as a papar model mate?
Thanks

there are a variety of other sdkfz 250 models available too....both the alte style and neu style.
You may be able to get it a bit cheaper looking on ebay. Search for 'paper model' and 'card model'.
