Small Scale Military Headquarters

My wife just notified me that my F-86 took a dump off my desk, breaking the windshield and canopy! I'm away at the moment, so my lament will have to wait until I get back. That sux! This will be my first loss since collecting 1:18 back in 2001......

my bell HUEY went down last month and rotor blade is broken ! i don't know if AT is better concerning spare parts than 21st century ? my 2cents solution : hang it from the ceiling ... very high !

Two weeks ago, my wife, while dusting knocked over my Dragon German Cavlary guy on his horse. It was on a table top packed with 16 other guys, three machine guns and two pieces of artillery. The domino effect with six guys hitting the floor.

Helmets, weapons and all kinds of equipment all over the room. After two hours I accounted for every helmet, gun and bayonet and granade.....I think. That was my first major accident.

My wife don't dust my guys anymore.

It is funny that you should say that.... Have you ever wondered what a manufacturer, from the south, does with the models that have been cannibalized beyond recognition? Lets just say it is very exciting packing the fuselages with five mortars worth of black powder… a very long fuse… and one daring person in the line of fire with a video camera!! (The person lighting the fuse… me, the only one brave enough to hold the camera… my wife!!)

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite days of the year. The history, patriotism and sacrifice this country has made to achieve this day and continues to sacrifice to make this day possible gives me goose-bumps. I know we have many customers from outside of the United States, and I mean no disrespect. I am sure you hold the same value of patriotism for your own countries. For me, the Fourth of July really means a lot.

Admiral Toys Incorporated has sponsored a fireworks display in our home town the past two years. Unfortunately there is a ban on fireworks this year because of the drought. But I promise this will not dissuade us from blowing up a couple of F-86s and ME 262s, yes I said 262s. I am sure you are saying how can you blow up what we haven’t even seen? Well we do have a couple of test subjects in the country. You will see the production sample in a few short days and have your hands on the real deal in a couple of weeks.

Jason, it would be great if that demolition caught on tape made it to the world wide web. It reminds me of when I was a kid and a friend and I would construct plastic model planes and set them on fire in his creek behind his house. One time we had the whole creek on fire. What happy thoughts fireworks and fuel. Happy early 4th of July!

Hey Teamski- So so sorry to hear about your AT F-86's death plunge. A while back I had a Corgi 1:32 Mosquito ($120 or so) tip off its stand and fall six feet off a high shelf. That night I slept like a baby-I woke up every ten minutes or so and cried my eyes out!

DocTodd, are you talking about me? You ever live on Long Island? I got a creek behind my house and when I was a kid built and blew up model ships and planes. The best was the Bismarck, put an M80 in side and sent her on her way. One second it was there the next there was a big hole in the water needless to say not much of the ship was left and by the next day I got my hearing back.

Ski, sorry about your F-86 but glad to that Jason is going to help you out.

My collection is hung on walls but when I do put one on a flat surface for any length of time for modifications, etc., I wrap a rubber band around the wheel/tire/strut assembly to keep it from rolling if it's bumped. It's saved more than one from attempting a take-off roll when I move something accidentally.

All of my models are up on shelves. I use a penny as a wheel chock. It works great, so for no accidents.

As a kid I built 1/35 models and I would heat up an ice pick to burn cannon shell holes in my tanks. Once in a while I would set off a firecracker inside a tank or truck just to see the effect. Usually just too explosive to look real for WW2. Would be correct now with a lazer guided bomb onto a Russian tank.
