I don't know, I just went to 21st site and couldn't get on. Maybe they're posting new intel on this very subject. I know they did a Mutt long ago butI don't collect NAM stuff... I don't remember seeing a Mutt with a TOW.

No, in fact it's a very old vehicle. Came out about 4 years ago, if memory serves. Features early/mid 80's camo scheme and early version of TOW, which is removable and can be set up on its own, or mounted on the MUTT.

Aahh ha thanks for your answers.
aferg, can you tell me if the one that came out 4 years ago had a figure.
I am kind of dissapointed that these vehicles including the halftrack don't come with even a driver.

don't remember price....$22 sounds about right. I thought it came with the mutt driver figure, vietnam guy wearing flak vest, no shirt on.

I got one about 4 years ago, it was the only thing on the shelf I did'nt have at the time; I believe at TRU. I didnt really collect VN stuff, but there it was.

The MUTTs came out in 2001, if I recall correctly. I have both. I think they each came with a driver. They were $14 or $15 back then. So maybe they're being re-released? Be nice if they re-released the M48.

Does the engine cover open on the Mutt?
And what colors were the Halftracks?
Thanks

Most questions have been answered - but yes they came with driver (and came in a smaller box). Moth, yes the hood opens and there is engine detail. Overall it is actually very detailed but I agree that the no figure approach to these recent midsized vehicles sucks. Really hope this is not a trend. Honestly, how fast would these go if it was packed with the Platoon Leader or VN infantry? $23 for a Jeep and no driver is a joke compared to a USMC Sherman with a figure, or a CC with 2 figures.

Yes sir I paid $22.74 + tx.
Moth, the engine cover does open. The US halftrack was green ( kind of a dark green, no weathering, I have the winter and the release that came with a market garden para and this was not either of those) the hanomag was tan (afrika mustard) with the camo lines

I'll be honest - $22 with no driver is crap. After getting the Willy Jeep and Mutt when they first came out for $15 (and passing on the kubel

), I passed on the SEAL technical when it came out (I think it was $25) since it was WTF? It's the same size vehicle.
I'm sure if I find one, I'll be buying it. But, if this is a trend I'll likely pass on the small vehicles.
Or maybe 21C is teasing us, and some Vietnam figures are on their way

yes, if this is a re-issue and it seems it is, it could signal some more upcoming Vietnam stuff.
Odd they chose the paint scheme they did though. Not from Vietnam. The scheme came out mid 70's as i recall. It is possible that a few of that scheme were seen in vietnam but it sure wouldnt' be the norm.
It's a neat little vehicle but demands a driver at that price.

The Seal Technical was 22, but it was the CC with no driver at $25 that clogged shelves near me, and with M41s were the last thing to ever leave TRU.
EDIT - You can see the original packaging here:

Cool, more new stuff that the Wal-Marts in my area will never get. Still haven't seen the last wave of vehicles (Dodge and Hummers) or the BOB series 2 figs, but we've got tons of Market Garden, Imperial Marines and West German Starfighters.

My local Walmart had this one, the Navy Seal Mutt, and behind it were an original paint scheme US Halftrack (no driver) and the hard top Hummer. I wonder if that was a full case I saw, or a mix of two.

As far as I could tell, it was the original paint scheme.

I just bought a M-48 with the new vehichles on the back of the box (2006 Copyright) at Wal-mart yesterday and I was dissapointed that the huge tank did not come with a figure either. The tank was $39.98. It looks as if the Vietnam Era/Platoon line is starting to hit everywhere.

I know these are manufactured in China, but you'd think they could at least spell 'Korea' properly. lol

I just noticed that, Horrible mistake, I wonder if 21st Century will fix the box with time, It might cause some Koreans to not buy their products
