I hate the 'holes'

Post by holensock » Sun Jun 04, 2006 1:32 pm

My apoligies to those of you who LOVE all the equipment that the 21C XD figures come with, but I gotta tell you, I just HATE these holes!! Some of the equipment fits, some doesn't, when I finally figure out what stuff goes into what holes, I go and try to pose the figure, only to have some of the equipment pop out and then it's time to feel around on the carpet to find it.
If I glue the equipment on the figure, some of the equipment gets into the way when I want to pose the figure a certain way.
I've kept this pretty much bottled up inside, until today. It's raining outside and I thought I'd spend some time doing a diorama...instead, I've spent time getting FRUSTRATED WITH HOLES!!! So I had to vent...and my eyes hurt...and I've gotta go now...to find a bunch of equipment that fell into the carpet because of those HOLES!!!!!!!!!! :x

Sounds like you got a bunch of the OMG figures, which come with equipment that doesn't fit in the figure's holes - and not enough to fill all of them

I do agree that the holes on the 21c figures can be frustrating and I am curious as to why they have continued with that strategy. The figures do look great with all their gear on, but BBI has shown that accessories can be included without overusage on holes & pegs - just look at their WWII Paratrooper and Infantry figures :)

On my 21c figures whose smaller accessories had a tendency to pop off and get lost, I adopted the solution of gluing the extra loose pieces in their holes with a very tiny drop of Krazy Glue. Now they don't come off! Certain figures needed this more than others: the accessories on my S1 US and German figures stay on fine, but the Marines are a different story.

In short, try gluing :)

The problem with gluing is there are certain details that keep you from being able to pose the figures, let alone sit them in a vehicle (if they fit, that is  )I've ended up gluing some of the detail on the figure that don't interfere with the arms and legs, but the rest I have to leave off.

Glad I'm not the only one! bbi DOES a better job by just putting their equipment ON the figure! Their belts are a different story. Their early figures had the belt with a hole that you needed a magnifying glass and enough patience to wear your fingers out trying to get them 'buckled' up! Now I see they have belts where you have to unsnap the figure at the waist to put the belt on.
Bottom line, both companies are making GREAT figures! Both companies are coming out with MORE figures! Keep tinkering 21C and bbi!! Keep these soldiers coming!!!
And last, PLEASE-21C and bbi-MORE armor!!!! MORE ARMOR-but this time-armor that the figures can FIT IN! (I had to get that in)
