what size are the bombs that come with the xd P-38?

they are 1000 pounders, are they not?
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

Thats what I figured they were looked big enough.

I agree that they are 1000 pounders as well. I used the bomb loadout on a P-38 in my Combat Flight Simulator II game as a reference - the bombs on the computerized plane looked similar in size to the XD ones, though thats not saying much... The bomb loadout on the BBI and 21c retooled P-51s are 500 pounders.

Bomb size

I measured the bombs from the 21C P-47 and they are 3.25" long. I don't know if the 21C P-38 bombs are the same.

They may be closest to the 250lb bomb. It was 5.21 feet in length, which scales close to the 3.25" of the 21C bomb.

The 500lb bomb was 5.74 feet, and the 1000lb was 6.56 feet long.

(But from a separate online resource, I get a 59 inch length for the 500lb. Go figure!)

Hopefully someone may be able to provide a better source.

After a little research I found out the P-38 could carry a 4,000 pound bomb load! News to me.
