Wow, that's cool.

But i've never seen a Signifer/vexillarius with a mask. That looks like a Roman Cavalry mask based off the one found in the Teutoborg Forest.

Wow! Now I'm finding myself in a new era of figures. They need to make a Roman fort and Amphitheater playsets now... How about some Visigoth warrior figures as well

As an aside, i wonder if these will turn up at Target, as it has now dawned on me that i've seen the series one Knights there.

We've seen the knights seen at Target and they are NOT the same bbi figures. The Target figures are from a company called Schleich of Germany-made in China, and the paint quality does not compare with the bbi figures. Trust me on this. The figures posses a somewhat "cartoonish" look with some poses looking quite dorky. We've had the opportunity to see these up close and we compared the two - similar in design - but not the same by any means. They even cost more than bbi's knights! Yikes!

Compatible? yes.

bbi's new catalog shows two different castles. One wooden & the other plastic with add-on/snap-on Towers with interior levels, Draw Bridges, Wall Sets with walls that look like they have "break-away" pieces. The first series knights will also receive a new paint scheme for the "Hundred Years War." There are Siege Towers, Catapults and other accessories coming, as well.

I know about the Schleich. I have seen the Bbi Knights there as well.

Probably pick them up there too.

Ta-152 are you sure you saw the bbi knights at Target? We'll have to clock our rep if this is true!

We thought the same thing when we first saw the Schleich knights and accessories. The castle towers look similar but are different in height and interior & bbi's tower even comes with 2 removable side pieces to view either "closed or open".

Next time you're at Target can you confirm this for us?

Please know I'm not doubting you at all Ta-152! I just don't want our rep telling us one thing only to find out he is misleading us and other online retailers.

Cheers,

Good news about the Signifier and that series 2 is already planned!

The signifier seems to be wearing a wolf skin on top of his armor....i've seen illustrations and models like this before.

Not sure if it was a cavalry thing too or not, nor do i know the significance of it.

The wolf pelt was a piece of Signifer gear. Kinda like the chainmail curiass with the face discs on it.

Bravo, i'm pretty sure it was them. I know i saw Bbi's Warriors of the World packaging on store shelves. Maybe it was TRU?

yes they are..and a bunch of new Knights as well....all looking very good.

They ARE in and they are terrific!

Most figures can be posed "on" the horse for additional riding figures!!!

Now we can't wait for the wave 2 Romans, accessories & Castles!

Papo does the same with their figures. The standing stance can also be used in riding a horse; offers greater flexibility but it does tend to lead to the same pose for all of their figures...

Just ordered some from FoxHole for my son (14, and deeply into Rome right now!). If they look good I'll follow up with an order for myself....

post some more pics please!

Well when any of ya get them in your hands, we would sure appreciate more pics. I am still on the fence about these and definately DO want 1:18 romans...but I am not too thrilled about their poses and limited articulation. Although all I want to do is have mine standing in formation as I build centuries.

Thanks a bunch!

Tman-

We already posted your package, so expect it no later than Wed-Thurs! Your son will love these!!!

The Celt is a very cool figure. His war paint is brilliant and the detail on these figures are superb!

We tried to find any fault with these figures and just couldn't. Excellent quality control!

I will try and take a few "out of package" photos today and post them for the board members. This way, anyone who is interested can see them from a different perspective.

Note: swords and pilums can be removed and interchanged with other figures for somewhat differing poses.

The Centurian on horse is our favorite! We also like the Gladiator because of his pose and due next in Wave II is another different Gladiator with Lion & Tiger. Anyone ordering these figures will receive the new brochure with Wave II photos. Already the response to these figures has been great and we anticipate the second assortment will be even greater with the debut of the chariot!

Now, how do we post photos on the forum?

Thanks.

Nonetheless, I await Tinman's review and look forward to Bravo's pictures

Pics and reviews of new products are not out of place on this forum (I don't think). Collection photos/dios and customs may be better put elsewhere.

Without pics and reviews, our 1:18 forum would just be recon and wish lists. :?

Well this has been brought up umpteen times and i'll say again what i've said before: people are welcomed to do reviews but they have to step up and take the pics, write the words etc.

The Customs/Mods forum is proving to be quite popular...no need to get rid of it.

The Reference Room is usually pretty quiet and seems to me to be an IDEAL place for product reviews.

But like i said, people have to be willing to do the work and create the reviews. Just stating that we should have them isn't going to make them happen.
