Any Interest In An Iraqi T-72 ?

Post by pickelhaube » Sat May 07, 2022 5:58 am

Hey Guys,

Is there any interest in an Iraqi T-72 ?
There are several modern American vehicles , but there is nothing for them to appose .
The T-72 was Iraqis main battle tank in both Gulf Wars.

That sounds like a good choice for modern armor collectors Pickelhaube. I'm
still collecting and doing customs of WWII German and Paper Panzers.
How about a Kugelblitz turret for a Panzerpanzer IV or V ?

A T-72 is definitely a must in terms of 1/18 modern armor. It’s one of those vehicles I’m surprised none of the manufacturers made back in the day, along with other important types like the T-34 and King Tiger (I know 21st prototyped a KT, but it was never released).

The closest we ever got to a 1/18 prebuilt T-72 was the Chinese Type 98 tank made for the Power Team Elite line by M&C Toys. The Type 98 is a derivative of the T-72. It’s actually a decent model, even if under scaled. I’ve got a couple and repainted one into more of a “Russian” style camouflage scheme:

Heng Long also makes a 1/16 scale T-72 and T-90. I’ve seen various collectors use them with 1/18 figures and they don’t look too out of scale together.
