MiG-29s but hmmm...SU-27s??
I hope one of the companies comes out with a MiG29-A Model...Not sure if I'd want an SU-27...in 1:18 scale that would be ridiculously GINORMOUS. F-4s, F/A-18E/F ... And about the F-14 Tomcat...one is out...unfortunately it is 12,500 freaking bones and its from the UK. I guess its for those dudes in golf apparel who have money to burn!

that F-14 is actually from the Czech republic (the distributor is in the UK)...it's HPH's model. Fabulous but expensive. You might actually be able to get it cheaper if you contact HPH directly...could save you a thousand or two.
I think we could see a Mig 29 one day......from BBI would be my guess. As for an F-14, very borderline. It's a massive and complex aircraft, so i would say it is on the cusp of being producable.

i never met an airplane i didn't like...
New Age Jets
If we're talking post-WW2...there are a few I'd like to throw into the wish bucket! How about the "Hun" or F-100 Super Sabre, the Voodoo F-101, or the Thud F-105 Thunderchief to name a few. The A-4 Skyhawk and the E/A-6 Intruder....and don't get me started on Pathers and Banshees!

I think the Mig 15 is going to be the next "jet" we'll see, but the next "modern jet" (still in combat service) I believe will be the A-10. It may be a bit larger than the F-18, but not much. I think it's simpler to construct than any of the other "modern jet" left. Plus I think it has appeal to more than just aircraft collectors, which means it could sell to more people.

Re: MiG-29s but hmmm...SU-27s??
I think of the two, the MiG is more likely. But, I would like to see the SU-27 as its proved to be the better in the Ethiopia/Eritrea war. I've been tempted to pick up a foam RC one, but would rather wait for a plastic one.MiG29K wrote:I hope one of the companies comes out with a MiG29-A Model...Not sure if I'd want an SU-27...in 1:18 scale that would be ridiculously GINORMOUS. Can't hurt to throw out my plea for a MiG-21

While looking for the RC SU-27, came across this MiG-29. You guys can check me, but I think its 1/18 (the wingspan is 1/16, based on the numbers I found)

yes it's about 1/18. The kits are made up of shaped slivers of foam. You build them like a cake, from a couple of dozen thin layers. They also make a sepecat jaguar which i bought...closer to 1/20 than 1/18. It's still sitting unbuilt. Not sure how good a model it will make. The best part about it was the clear vac canopy. Pretty expensive at $70 plus shipping. Not worth it in my opinion. I also ordered a mig 3, with was exactly 1/18. It never showed and i had to file a claim with Paypal to get my money refunded.
While i was looking for the su-27 i came across a decent looking 1/18 Panavia Tornado (see thread i started). Way expensive though. $400 for a foam and wood kit.
I think we have a very decent chance of seeing a 1/18 MIg 29, probably from BBI. It's a good size, a popular subject and would have lots of repaint potential..
I think we have pretty much zero chance of ever seeing a Tornado...

Trying to find that stinkin' 1/18 scale SU-27, I was amazed how many RC versions of that plane there are. Didn't think it was that popular of a plane. Maybe we'll see a BBi version of that as well.
But that logic doesn't bode well for my MiG-21. Even in other modeling scales I don't come across too many models of that.

the closest i've been able to find is this:
http://www.ultraflymodel.com/airplanes/ufla1080.html
It's about the same size as the BBI F-18 but even still is well underscaled at about 1/24.
I wouldn't count on seeing a BBI 1/18 su-27. At 4 feet by 2 1/2 feet it's a bit of a monster..
