Availability Question

Post by Gusthebus » Tue Mar 07, 2006 8:01 pm

Hey, does anyone know if the 21st century Eastern Warrior figures, the Royal Marine figure or the series 1 Japanese figures are still available through WM? Also, is the Boyington Corsair going to come out this spring or did it already come out? Last, what is with some xd airplanes being boxed in Motorworks boxes? Thanks.

I do not think the modern figures are available at WM. They might have been at one point, but not now (and I don't think ever).

The motorworks boxes on planes are just different packaging. With tanks it gets more complicated but with AC the products are the same.

The Boyington Corsair has been released, but will be coming again as part of the "Legends" line which will have all the bells and whistles. The Lucybelle has been released though. Hope this helps.

You may still be able to find some S1 Japanese troops at WM, but I think there are more of the S2 versions available rather than the S1 versions.

Thanks, that clears up a lot. What is the deal with the tanks in motorwork's boxes?

The tanks that were packaged in Motorworks boxes did not have as many figures as those tanks packaged in 21st boxes. I think that was the only difference.

Some of the Motorworks tanks, like the Tiger I and Sherman were mostly metal and a lot heavier. Im not sure about the sherman being metal. Maybe somebody clear that up

Yup, "mostly" metal.
Also, the winter Sherman was only in motorworks box (and diecast). The winter Tiger was in both motorworks and TUS boxes in diecast and plastic respectively.
And immeww2 is right, the Tiger had 2 figures in the TUS package, one in the MW.
While on the topic, the diecast grey Tiger was only in MW packaging, one figure.

To answer your question below, the main difference is S2 has tan/mustard uniforms, compared to the S1 Green. However green guys have been re-released with the Mustard so they are around - it is up to you which you prefer.

What's the difference between series 1 and series 2 Japanese figures besides packaging? Is it worth trying to get series 1 if I have series 2? Thanks.

I think there is a little more painting detail on the S1 figures. Not that big of a deal, though, but there is a slight difference. Whether you decide to get the S1 figures or not depends on whether you prefer them in their light tan or green clad uniforms.

Would you happen to know anywhere I could get series 1 Japanese figures besides ebay?

I'm not sure whether any of the other on-line retailers have them in stock. Maybe some of the other board members can elaborate. You can also post your request in the "Buy/Sell/Trade" forum and maybe some one has an extra set they could sell or trade.
