Holy crap........a frickin sherman. We've got a frickin' sherman....lol. Still this is probably great news, as long as they don't make a panther, tiger, two half tracks and then stop production. :?
How did you find this picture and are there any others?

Awesome! Is it just me or does the cannon look a bit goofy? Perhaps its a 105mm? Regardless I hope we see some figures and more VEHICLES!

This is great news. With any luck we'll see more armor from them and this might get 21st moving on some new releaces. Oh and the cannon does looks a bit goofy.

This is great news! BBI just needs to offer these off the shelf. I'm still waiting for the FA18 to make it to TRU.

i wonder where they are planning on selling these? TRU is getting out of the toy business, as i understand it and even if they don't i can't imagine they will want to carry items like this again, after their experience with 21c. Besides, they still have the 'no german' policy as far as i know. I can't imagine WM would want to carry these as well as 21c's products.
So where will they be retailed i wonder? Anyway, bring it on... let's just hope to see some NEW subject matter.

I must be dreaming. Thank God! Maybe this will get 21C off the dime and give us new armor not re-releases. Giddy up!
Another Sherman, mmmm...........

I wish they could of started with something new, though. They could of really set things off alight with another tank. I would question whether or not I would get one since the 21st version has been out forever. I shouldn't complain, though. It could turn out to be a weathered work of art. The cannon definately is too large even for the 105 gunned version. Anyway you look at it, it is very good news!
Things are ever in motion in our hobby.
It just amazes me sometimes!

read the last line of what? I feel like i'm missing out on something here..
I think they should have started with a Pershing, very sought after and different from a Sherman. I am hunching they started with a sherman since it's safe, American (ie not german) and a better basis for other models like Priests, M10's etc

Sorry Ferg. bbi sent out an email to all club members announcing the Sherman and saying more good things to come. Wow! I can only imagine what that means.
I emailed BCA and they said that they will be carrying the new bbi Sherman when it comes out. They will also get more of the regular F-16 in shortly.

The odd thing is I can't seem to find the sherman on their website. At least bbi does give their club members preferential treatment unlike some other company we all know.

I coulden't find the Sherman on their site either.

And everytime I try to post here I have to log in, even after I've registered, 3 or 4 times

O well thats technology. Great to see another company going into 1/18th WWII ,

Late 105 version

This looks like the late 105 howizter version with the late all round vision style commander copula. The 50 cal is in the right place and the mantlet looks correct for the howitzer. However the barrel looks a bit goofy or out of scale.
They are capitalizing on the same old body, but at least it's a different turret.
If it has the oval loaders hatch, then it will be pretty good.
So, that is actually very good news, indeed. Another Sherman version.
Now if they would only release the T23 Turet .. or how about a Churchill?

I'm just happy to see SOMEONE doing SOMETHING with the WW2 genre other than freakin' airplanes. Planes are big, costly, and I have no more space for these things unless they're REAL special... And real special hasn't been 21st's motto on planes from my POV personally.
This Sherman could wow us with a full interior or it may not... Either way, it's something, and it's a step into WW2 which means a possible step into WW2 figures. As much as I'd love Germans, at this point I don't care if all BBI offers up is Americans, Brits, French, Russians or whatever... Just offer SOMETHING. 21st isn't.
TRU isn't getting out of toys... X-Mas will depend on what happens with the toy portion of the overall company, but selling it off doesn't mean it'll end. Specialist micro-management is perhaps what it needs actually... Getting off your ass and dicsounting things frequently wouldn't hurt either though as an immediate remedy... Everything has leeway set into its price for "sales", and that's their new strategy going into X-Mas season; to do sales and make attempts at moving product faster than their competition while keeping current inventories. No small task, but speaking as a toy collector, TRU has Wal-Mart by the sack... As a parent though (not that I am a parent, but I do shop for kids), I'm no more displeased with TRU than WM. Neither seems to have what I want.
If TRU plays its cards right, the toy portion of the business will be fine. Personally, from my observation, TRU is blowing a lotta smoke... Their stores are making money year-round since they dropped the dead weight they were carrying. I think they're calling a bluff personally, but that's just my opinion... They're financially recovering after their little restructure though, but I think they're bracing for a bad X-Mas like last year and "hollerin' before you're hurt" on the toy business thing.
Either way... I can't see German product at TRU either, but I could see it offered through Amazon.com (Or whoever TRU's .com is after they sort out THAT mess too). Don't discount Target either, as a viable retail outlet, or KB Toys... BBI doesn't seem to be in any "deal" with TRU, they just are another product supplier... BBI stuff could show up virtually anywhere, including WM if 21st doesn't play nice with others.

I agree that the cannon looks goofy, but it could be camera angle. Ill hold off on that one until we see more pics. If the only thing wrong is the cannon, well thats easy to replace. I believe the most important element is the fact that bbi is entering the WWII foray. It is a fairly safe way to enter the market, going with the Sherman.
I cant wait to see their other offerings. I'd love to see a Flakdpanzer. And bring on the towed arty!!!!

thats nice for the WWII collectors out there, but what ever happened to the british troops they were supposed to come out with, or the us spec forces for that matter, i havent seen any of them, so i dont know if i would get my hopes up about seeing the sherman on shelves ay time soon, it seems like they give out pictures, but you wont see it for more than 6 months after, if your lucky. i like bbi's products and would like to buy more, but i can't find any of the new stuff, so i'm happy to see images of new releases but i'd be happier to see them on the shelves.

Everything BBI's ever shown has been purchaseable at one point or another, so on that note I'm pretty content with their efforts. 21st's not even in the same caliber in my book then, at least on this issue.
I saw the green suited chopper pilots and Wave 2 accessory sets in my area now, so those things are coming... I didn't see the guys with the berets though either, and I'd like them actually.
I think maybe if BBI works things right we'll see a fire under the collective asses of 21st and maybe THEY will give us something to buy. I'm all about picking up 21st figures and armor, they just have to give us the option to do so.

Very cool to see that BBI is entering the WWII market. Perhaps some of the "other goodies" we have heard about will be the P-51 BBI is rumored to be making... I'm kind of dissapointed to see 21st's domain (WWII products) being intruded upon, but competition can be a good thing and may very well get 21st off their asses. Given that BBI deals with TRU, German armor may be a long shot at this point, but British and even Russian armor would be good moves - especially since 21st has already scored the US and German sides. I am anxious to see just how much the BBI Sherman differs from the 21st Sherman. The 21st Sherman didn't have any interior detail so to speak, and the BBI armor up to this point, hasn't had any interior detail either. There's no reason why they couldn't do it, however.
Sherman?

Man, of all choices for BBi to start a WWII line with, this one I would question the most, considering all the shelfwarmers of the very nice 21C shermans at Walmart. But, if this is in the $25 range, and followed up with some nice figures, BBi may end up looking like geniuses.

I wonder if it will have a figure. I will buy one if the price is right even though I have like four Sherman’s already. I simply can’t wait to see more WWII items produced in 1/18.

If the Sherman issues at anywhere in the price range that the M1 was in, I would have to pass on it.........
