1:18 Scale UD-4L Dropship Scratchbuild

Post by TOOL » Wed May 13, 2020 9:58 am

Hey all! Not sure how many jump on this site anymore, I don't see much activity. Well after Hiya toys announced it would be making a 1:18 scale APC I got the idea to build a same scale dropship for it. It was a crazy idea and I did a bunch of research, drew up plans etc. Well after nearly 3 years it is nearly complete. I just have ordinance - rocket pods- paint weathering- decals- and a few more lights to install. I thought I would share a peak with all of you here, it is roughly 6ft longs and over 4 ft wide. I do have an Instagram @skandjoe that I regularly post collection related items on and twitter @skandjoe as well. I hope everyone is doing well!

I gotta say this is impressive! After years of work, it's nice to feel the project coming to a conclusion...trust me, I know. Keep the great work coming.

Thanks guys! Yeah its been fun and challenging all rolled into one! Its modular so I can take most of the pieces off hence some of the spacing. Its too big to move otherwise!

Wow! You don't have to be a Sc-Fi fan to appreciate this project. Very wise doing the modular components. That thing is massive based on the size of the figures next to it. Outstanding!

Great detail. Does the ramp/platform close with the APC on it?

Wow I can’t imagine how big it is, I have the APC and it is large! Great work.

Yeah the APC fits inside, I'll probably use magnets to help keep it closed.
