Which one is the most disirable?

Post by hotrodrock » Thu Feb 16, 2006 3:59 pm

The FW-190 is the only one of the 21C planes that I don't have an example of. Which of the 190's seems to be the most desirable paint scheme?

Hard to say - they are all pretty nice, however the "Red 3" version (the one with the red & white stripped underside) is probably the least desirable, despite its interesting history. You may want to look up the XD FW-190 on ebay and see which version there is the most of, which type has the highest number of bids, etc. Otherwise, the "Black 1" and "Blue 12" schemes may be the most popular. The "White 1" version is the subject of a cool 21c promotional poster. I personally own the "White 1" and "Black 1" versions, since those two are my favorite.

Oh, forgot the "Black 14" version, which will actually answer your question. This was the European exclusive and was only seen at a few US small retailers and never went to Wal Mart. This is the rarest version, and consequently, would be the most desirable. You will have to pay a pretty penny for it, though.

I agree with Black 14 as the most valuable. I personally like blue 12.

Which one is White 1? My understatnding was there are only 5 versions of the 190 (red 3, blue 12, black 1, black 14 and black chevron). Am I missing something? :?

I like the Red 3, I painted the drop tank red to match the bottom, it looks pretty good. :)

The "White 1" aircraft is the same as the "Black Cheveron." I've heard both names used. "Black Cheveron" is, however, the more accurate considering the look of the plane.

You can ditch the tank with the Red 3 as it was just flying around the airfield so would not use the tank.
