It annoys me that the regular (Wolf) version, which I ordered, won't arrive until next week!! Its not BCA's fault at all, but BBI's for taking so darn long, and putting the F-16s on two different ships
I'm only annoyed as I was hoping for the new plane arrive before, or during, the time I will be at home for the Thanksgiving holiday from school.

bbi at tru
I was told Wednesday at Times Square TRU that aside from Joes they were done with 1:18 military. That said those guys have been very wrong before, so it may make it to tru. I wouldn't be surprised if none of the red box stuff makes it there (M4, Defender, USMCSH, F-16), but I hope it does. Something about walking into a store and seeing the goods on the shelf is good for the soul.
Regular F16's Soon
Hi All,
Thursday I asked Armando at Far Out Toys to let me know when the F16's were coming. I was surprised to get a call today saying that he was told they ship on Monday and should be there by Wednesday. Wife is going to kill me when I buy another plane.

Re: Received F-16
Is the canopy heavily tinted or is it the lighter version????raiderad6 wrote:Just received my F-16 ANG today from badcat. WOW! Bigger then what i thought. Very nice looking plane. Have not taken it out of the box yet but from what i can see i love it. One problem though. I think the missles look kinda toyish but i can deal with it. I am glad i pre-ordered the F-16GR. Can't wait to get it.

Just got my confirmation e-mail about 5 minutes ago and have since overhauled this message (which when posted 20 minutes ago, was a lament about how I preordered the F-16 on day one only to not have it ship). Conversely, it should be on the doorstep in a couple of days - my house in Fresno isn't that far away from BCA's warehouse!!

My Impression of the BBI F-16
Recieved mine today (along with the BBI P-51)! What a day!
The plane is simply huge and quite heavy, the construction is sturdy! The cockpit is well laid out with HUD, instruments, side control stick, and removable ejection seat. The missile armament clip in place on the hardpoints which clip into the wings well. The landing gear retract nicely and clip into place in the retracted position. I'm hoping there won't be the bending problem that boardmembers have said there was with the F-18s landing gear - the F-16's seem sturdy. There are warning labels, etc. all over the plane as well as all the squadron markings - no detail was spared! The exhaust vent (engine) is left in the full open position, I guess to simulate a full takeoff. My only real complaint is that they didn't make the horizontal stabilizers able to move up or down as they do on the actual plane, it would have been fairly easy to do that with such a big model. All in all, this is an awesome 1:18 scale aircraft, that compliments the F-18 and gives 21st some serious competiton. I look forward to seeing what future modern aircraft BBI will release, now that they've demonstrated they can be made and sold in this scale!

Tman's asessment of the bbi F-16G is dead on. The plane is very sturdy, much more so than the F-18 in my opinion. The main gear problem with the F-18 is no longer present with the F-16. ( I would say the 90 degree hinge on the 1/1 scale F-18 contributed to the bending problem on 1/18 scale model.) Another improvement I noticed over all previous bbi aircraft releases; all of the info stencils are actually legible! They actually say something!!! (Yes, little things amuse me ) All of the other aircraft had some sort of gibberish written all over them. The exhaust nozzle is far superior to the ones on the F-18 as well. It is "deep" with excellent detail inside. The open position of the nozzle may not sit well with some, but when you see the detail bbi included inside you will understand why they modeled it this way.
Over all, I honestly don't see how bbi could make the F-16G much better. I was astounded with the level of detail on the F-18, but the F-16 has stepped it up yet again. Aside from some fun little detail items I will add, this offering from bbi is perfect out of the box!

Thanks for the reviews guys. It's nice to see that bbi corrected the soft plastic issue with the F-18. I guess the manufacturer realized that they had to "harden" the plastic on the plane, especially the gear areas. Hopefully any future releases continue to avoid the droopy roters and flattening landing gear of the past............
I can't wait to get my pair of F-16s. I'm still trying to figure out where it's going to go..........

Figuring out where its going to go is the problem! I assume that this is somewhat smaller than the F-18, still, its a massive plane! Concerning its wingspan, however, it is much smaller than most other 1:18 planes. The 21st P-38 wingspan, for example, is nearly a foot longer. The F-16 is 10-12 inches longer than most of the 21st WWII planes as well. I'm going to need 1-2 large eye-hooks and some heavy-gague fishing line to hang this!
I know I keep on ranting about this plane, but having skipped out (ruefully) on the BBI F-18, this is my first big jet, so I'm quite excited! I still can't believe that BBI had the guts to go ahead and start making 1:18 scale jet fighters.
