I agree, I believe that the Avenger, although long in coming, will be a great "lessons learned" for 21st. I think we will see great things come out of it.

I am a loss to understand why, if 21C is having problems with the folding wings, why not produce a fixed wing version as S1. I am sure more guys than just me would gladly buy each series of the Avenger.

And that while we are waiting for the Dauntless, surely an aircraft that is almost as worthy of our attention as the Avenger.

Has anybody suggested that the manufacturers make a gentleman's agreement as to who produces what. Why can't BBI produce a Dauntless or other famous plane while 21C devotes their efforts to the Avenger, or something like the Hurricane or Mosquito. Just so both companies don't compete with the same planes and their markets are cut in half for each plane??

I guess that makes too much sense, the idea of making everybody happy with more planes we want. You never know, I might even be tempted to try the "dark side" (planes). Nah......... :?

The folding wing feature is pretty darn cool, and that's really what makes the Avenger look so famous. You seen more photos from WW2 of the wings folded on carriers than flying!

P51:

Do you think guys will have the Avenger displayed with wings folded?

I certinally will have mine displayed that way but I will sure have another series Avenger, when and if any series comes out, with wings open making that torpedo run on the 1/18 Yamato or attacking the U-555 off the Azores. :? The funny thing is I'll probably have the Yamato in my driveway before an Avenger is in my bunker 8)

When you see how big it is... you'll know that for many people, the only way to display it will be with the wings folded :-P And yes, I think many people have static collections that are not hanging, so they would be able to save a lot by folding the wings. Plus, it looks so much cooler, IMO, with the wings folded.

More intel on the Avenger WILL be presented at ToyFair. It has been an interesting ride, with the strictest of operational requirements from the R&D department at 21st! You will all be pleased with the final product. More info will be ready in one week!

Its going to be interesting, with all the delays and such. If the Avenger doesn't turn out to be just perfect. I think 21st Century will begin to lose its prestige. I know thats what I'm expecting.

If by versions you mean "paint schemes" I believe there are 3.
Flight 19, Atlantic and G. Bush 41. Obviously the flight 19 comes with the alien and the atlantic is really nice with the light underside and dark blue upper.

great paint scheme choices.......

The avenger was the #3 U-boat killer in the atlantic, so that scheme is a must, George Bush's of course wore a typical mid war scheme and the Flight 19 planes had a typical late war scheme. All bases covered. ;)

Yeah, it really does. I think it was on this forum that it caused quite a stink earlier last year with some claiming it was offensive to the real airmen who died in flight 19.
i kinda like em though.

Am I missing something here on Pilotman's comment about some people thought it was offensive to the Flight 19 pilots.

What kind of sense does that make? That's like saying we shouldn't have a 1/18 Stuka because it offends relatives of people killed by a Stuka, same for a P-51 and every other plane, ship and vehicle model

Give me a break :?

I guess we should all take up kniting and dump our planes & vehicles in the trash. Yea, like that's gonna happen

Hmmm,

I think this is a great idea! Maybe the companies may consider this.

By the way, I found out why at least the Atlantic Avenger is delayed; it'll need a bit of repair work before we see it
