Yes, the photos were easy to see... and are great ones showing a restoration in process. Thanks for sharing!

Avengers being shipped already??

No, this is delivery in 1944; not 2006. But hope springs eternal! :D

Nice pic-post JimBob, looks like an Atlantic gray color scheme.

From BadCat, getting closer I guess:
UPDATE 3/10/06: Rumblings within the industry indicate we are getting closer to the Avenger release date. Still no official word from our HK shipping agent but we are optimistic for a delivery before mid-year. We know this item is at the top of most everyone's list and we are doing everything possible on our end to help encourage the project's completion. We are confident that our friends at 21st WILL come through with the very best aircraft offered thus far in this scale. Thanks again for being patient, the TBM WILL DEFINITELY BE WORTH THE WAIT!!

Or another dangling carrot. Who knows what BCA knows or doesn't. Three years is a long time to wait.

Has anyone noticed that now they're talking about sometime around the middle of the year?

Personally, I kind of given up on the Avenger idea altogether.

Yeah, I noticed that mid year date now also. I feel the same way about the Avenger. While I really want one, I refuse to get excited about it until I see that someone has it IN STOCK and ready to ship to my door. Then I'll get excited. Until then, I try not to even think about it.

Then again, the Avenger could pull something like the retooled P-51 - the small retailers are given an estimate for when the planes will ship to them, and then the Avenger actually shows up at Wal Mart a month or two earlier (and of course, at none of the stores in any of our local areas :? )

I'm hoping, wait or not, that it goes to the small retailers first

Only thing about Wal-mart is, as far as I know we have not been told IF they will even carry it at all because of the size.
Could not think of anything to put here.

It would be a huge mistake for 21C to put all this time and effort into the Avenger and not make it available at Wal Mart.

I don't think even 21C has a clue when the Avenger will show up. The Chinese take Feb. off for new years. TKO felt the Avenger would be out before the "snow quits flying" and BCA feels midyear. I wish 21C would be honest and just give us good delivery information. What is wrong with that?

I seem to remember TKO saying that the NY toyfair was for stuff already on the water or at the end of production and NO prototype stuff was shown.... Wasn't the Avenger at the Toyfair???? :D
BCA is also saying delivery BEFORE midyear and we are already in the 3rd month..

ahh, the avenger...

i've been keeping it out of sight and well out of mind. it will be here eventually, though i don't have the room for it anyway!

it is hard to believe that i preordered the plane more than two years ago.

february, 2004, to be exact, and through the now defunct small blue planet web store.

at least this gives us a chance to reminisce about where we were and what we were doing back then. let's see, i was...

The Avenger is a favorite itch to scratch and I can't say I blame anyone... IT is a darn cool plane and we have been waiting a while.

What people aren't aware of is the extreme technical troubleshooting that this project has required. But rest assured it is looking good! New info concerning its ETA on the water date are now available in the 21st finds and discussions page.

The "snow stops flying" in my city around early april. Looks like my estimates might have been 2-3 weeks off for delivery... Not too far off if you ask me.

The GREAT news is that they are now only weeks away.

Thank you for the information!
Do you know if Wal-mart will carry it?

I sure hope not

When small retailers carry a product, everyone has a chance to get one, as long as supplies last, through online orders, etc. When Wal Mart gets something new, it usually shows up in one part of the country and only arrives at the other when everyone has already forgotten about it and are crying for the next release :P

I am pretty sure that Wal-Mart will carry the Avenger... But I thought I heard at toy fair that the on-line boys will have them a good month before Wal-Marts get them!

I wouldn't wait any longer for these. In my opinion the on-line option is going to be the way to go!

Does anyone know what color scheme will be released first on the Avenger model?
