Your bench looks good. Way less cluttered than mine right now.

Ha - agreed, you are very well organized there, not at all like my man cave. Keep putting that bench to use TD.

Nice Mercury capsule! What's the scale? I have a version of the 12" GI Joe capsule, which while a tad underscaled, is the only 1:6 scale spacecraft out there! I've toyed with the idea of making the parachute cover for it and perhaps the escape tower. I fantasize about making a scale Redstone or Atlas launch vehicle :)

Mercury Capsule

Post by Folkwulfe » Mon Jan 30, 2006 11:42 am

Sorry, but the capsule is 1/24th scale by Cpt Cardboard (yess it's plastic). I got to the general mock-up stage when I found out there's a PE detail set due out soon for the interior. Not going any farther until I get it.....and the rest of the Redstone will be scratch built. If my measurements are right, the booster is about 6 1/2 feet (mounted horizontally on the wall) with the capsule detachable. In the meantime there's a vinyl Brandon Lee "Crow" my daughter is dying for me to complete, half a dozen 1/6th figures to complete, three 1/18th scale planes to detail, etc., etc.,....you should see the floor! About 40-50 models in various stages. Needless to say the projects come faster than the builder can finish them. Sound familiar?
