Adding motors to Aircraft

Post by tpa05 » Tue Feb 21, 2017 3:33 pm

Hey guys,

A while ago I added a small battery operated motor to my son's 1:32 scale Corsair along with a simple on/off switch and was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out. Decided after that to add motors to some 1:18 Aircraft including a Zero, a Corsair and a few P-47's. Now with a spinning propellers, my (then 7-year old son) and I could chase each other around the house making 'em even more enjoyable.

Again, pretty surprised at how easy it was and with that just wanted to know how many others have done the same...?

tpa05, here is a thread from 10 years ago (actually started by you) that may provide some info :D

Seems TKO211 may have done something and perhaps a couple other members...

Ok, after playing some dumb sports I've had my share of head injuries (football, rugby and bad landings at the drop zone) and am becoming more and more convinced my memory is taking a hit as a result. I just re-read (my own) thread and everything I could have wanted to know was answered....

....by my own thread.

Ouch...

It was funny as I searched the word "motor" in the 1/18 scale forum and most of the topics - going back a decade - were started by you, tpa. No worries, though as it happens to all of us :D
