From a Terrible "D" to a Passing "F"

No, not some new grading scale, but in reference to the 21c RC Panzer IV...

Many of us remember that awful gray Panzer IV that was a hybrid between a Panzer IV D and Panzer IV H...

I had tried at one point to properly backdate one of these tanks, but it proved difficult due to the turret hatches and other details, so I gave up and realized it would be easier to forward-date the model to a Panzer IV F1 (which still had the short-barreled 75mm gun of the earlier models). This was accomplished namely by removing the turret armor skirting, changing out the front hull plating using parts from the Panzer IV that I recently modified into a Brummbar model. I then modified the commander's hatch using spare pieces.

My end result is not a perfect Panzer IV F1 as it lacks some of the smaller details, but it is something passable and far less of a mutant tank than the original 21c Panzer IV D/H hybrid was :D

Tman, your pictures aren't showing up on my browser. Getting the dreaded box with the x. Might just be my Fisher Price computer from the 1980's. The two D batteries may need replacing. :P Was anxious to see the results. Rats! Is everyone else but me able to see them???

Fixed! There's one of those dialog boxes at the bottom that wants to know if I want to view unsecured content. By habit I just "X" it out.

This time I clicked on "Show Content" and bam! up came the pics.

I must have a super sensative firewall.

What could be unsecured about a few tank pictures?

Go figure.

(Thanks Studly for the reply! You confirmed it was my computer.)

So, you just need these main variants to get a good run of the Pz IV:

Pzkpfw IV Ausf A-F1 (short-barreled)
Pzkpfw IV Ausf F2-J (long-Barreled) (people could probably scratch their own bits for each subvariant, like roadwheels, turret hatches/cupolas/ bolt-on armor plates, etc.)
Brummbär
Sturmgeschütz IV
Jadgpanzer IV/48 (short)
Panzer IV/70 (V, most common)/(A) (long)
Hornisse/Nashorn
Hummel
Möbelwagen
Wirbelwind
Ostwind

What off that list remains to be produced?

Hummel, Nashorn and Jagdpanzer would be nice to have. Wirbelwind-kit was made by Matthew. Brummbär and StUG as perfect kits by Sanford.
