Indiana Jones Motorcycle - Pickelhaube's Kit Revisited

Below is my latest project using a partial sidecar kit from Pickelhaube that I ordered several years ago, but only got around to building this past week. I've attempted to replicate the motorcycle with side car that Indiana Jones and Henry Jones Sr. used to make their escape from the Nazi castle in "Last Crusade". The sidecar wheel fender was scratch built from parts from another Indy bike and the divisional emblem (1st SS Panzer Division) looks somewhat close to the emblem on the movie bike. It is not 100% movie accurate, but I think it looks the part!

Enjoy :D

Nice job Tman! The 1st SS Panzer Division emblem, is it 1:16? it looks scale.
Those wood chips look like debris from the farm house, well done.

Thanks Normandy! The 1st SS Panzer Div. emblem is actually 1:18 scale. It was from an old John's Stuff decal sheet. I got a few of those several years back when Monkeydepot.com had them in stock and have been working off of them ever since. I like how the woodchips came out as well. I noticed it last week when I took the pictures of my Stug IV and will likely continue doing detail shots in my back yard :D

This may seem like a silly question but how did you get the pegs out of the wheel hubs to split the jones bike? I've got pickel's kit, but I've never been able to open up the bike without risking breaking it.

Back when I customized my first bike using Pickel's kit, I tapped the wheel pins out using a small hammer and a nail so I could insert the more realistic tires. The bike frame itself is pretty sturdy. The two wheels I popped off that first bike were used on the sidecar on the Indiana Jones custom. This was the more realistic German Zundapp I made a few years back using Pickel's kit:
