How about a A1 Skyraider?
How about a A1 Skyraider?
Anyone think a A1 Skyraider would be a seller in 1/18 scale? I don’t think there is not enough VN Aircraft. It would be nice to have some aircraft and vehicles to support the Platoon line coming out. Anyone of other ideas for VN items that could be marketed realistically?

Heck yeah!I want a Skyraider!Lots of paint schemes and two wars to cover.carried a wide variety of ordinance. My all time favorite bird next to the F-100D.If I had my wish the A-1 would be the next 1/18 scale aircraft developed.

A-1
Yes, I'd love to see the Skyraider!!! It was a workhorse in Korea, too! It had the over-all blue Navy paint scheme then, which would be a great contrast to Viet Nam-era Navy gray and Air Force camouflage. I believe some even flew with South Viet Nam markings.

The sandies are awesome. I would definitely get 1!!!!!
BTW since it performed in a predominantly jet war as a CAS aircraft in vietnam, was it originally intended as a prop fighter or was it always a CAS plane?

I was just sitting here watching "The Green Berets" on AMC, and I noticed that two Skyraiders did a flyover during one of the battles. Has anyone ever seen this, or can confirm they were Skyraiders?
Sandy History
Not to be forgotten should be that the Sandy (AD2 version) served with the Navy during Korea. It started fleet service around 1948 with carrier attack squadrons and went on to an illustrious carrier in VN. Besides the USAF and USN, Sandy's served with the USMC in the CAS role. Should be a multitude of marking scemes available should BBI or 21C (Admiralty Toys maybe?) decide to produce them. A great site for infor is http://skyraider.org/skyassn/index.htm.

I'd buy an A-1 Skyraider AND an A-6 Intruder. Both have always been favorites of mine. I doubt there would be much interest, but an EA-6B Prowler would be really cool!
