1/18 Ultimate Soldier F-86 drop tank location on wings?

I haven't visited the board for a while, but I can't remember if this subject ever came up before, but after buying my third 1/18 F-86 I only just noticed after checking my references and my 1/32 and 1/48 scale builds that the drop tanks are too far inboard on the wings for an F-86 A,E or F model. It's like they used plans for an F-86D Sabre Dog instead which did mount the drop tanks farther inboard. Has anyone ever noticed or mentioned this issue before? It should be an easy fix with my dremel to measure and drill some new holes for the pylons but now I realize why I always thought something looked off about them despite being a pretty good 1/18 scale aircraft.

Great catch. Do you know if the Admiral F86 has the same problem.

No I don't, I never bought an Admiral F-86 although I'd like to find one in German markings and NATO camo. BTW, did anyone ever produce aftermarket 1/18 scale decals for the Admiral F-86 "blanks"? I'd like to do a custom post Korean War USAF in Europe Sabre but just for starters nobody makes decals for the large "U.S. AIR FORCE" stenciling on the fuselage. With all of the aircraft experts in these forums I'm kind of surprised nobody caught the problem with the position of the drop tanks years ago. Now that I know about it, it's very noticeable.

A while back someone did three decal sheets for the F-86. " Aviationnut" sold a 1/18 custom model with the decals on it. Looked great. Unfortunately none of the decals were post Korea.

Just out of curiosity I've been browsing pictures of the Admiral Toys 1/18 F-86 online and it does look like they got the drop tanks mounted in the proper position on the wings. Couldn't find any Admiral West German NATO Sabres for sale anywhere.
