I'd like to make a VK 1602 Leoperd. I've got a turret from Grunts Puma,I think it would be a cool project.

The VK 1602 ( Baby Panther ) would be cool to make.

But reading in one of my Panzer Tracts books the turret was similar in shape to the 234 but it was larger and the armor had a different shape .

Other than that it is a highly modified Panther .

I will be making this variant in the future along with the E-10 .

I am booked solid in the XD Work Factory till after the first of the year.

It is so much easier talking about the projects than actually doing them.

:D :D :D

For a Paper Model they look better than injected molded kits, Incredible.

Hey Studly ,

I am not sure if you are joking or not .

There are indeed tank models made of paper. They are usually 1/24 scale .

My notion of a paper panzer were panzers drawn out ( on paper ) and were never made or produced.

What Zelda and Normandy are showing are some of the kits I have made except some of Flak Panthers that Normandy has built.

All of which are totally cool :D :D :D

Hallo Studly,
The above pics are 1:18 21st Century custom tanks that Zelda and I made with turrets and road wheels
from Pickelhaube.
The VK 1602 Leoperd, picture with link is a future 1:18 custom project.

The 21st 1:18 tank line was great, a fantastic base for customs or just super detailing.
Thanks Matthew for all the great custom kits over the years....hope to see many more!!!

Studly, I still can't see your avatar....I found this guy.

The more I look at it that 1602 , it has got to be built .

Sure wish I had a magic wand .

:D

Normandy you DAK Panther II is way cool

Zelda that white 405 is no slouch either , way cool paint scheme.

The VK 1602 Leoperd would definitely be a cool 1:18 project. I've got a Panther G set aside and a grunt turret
ready.....just need some time, I've been a Grandfather for nine months....all building has come to a stop. :?

Thanks Pickel, I had fun doing those two Panthers with your kits.
"Sure wish I had a magic wand" YOU DON"T NEED NO STINKIN WAND, your PICKELHAUBE.....

Hey Zelda, I like the Hinterhalt camo the 405 Panther very nicely done!
I've wanted to try that pattern.

Pickel, check this one out... http://www.pwm.org.pl/viewtopic.php?f=1 ... 9&start=15

If it had been built , it may have been a failure....who knows, but I like the lines.

Different version, note the road wheel configuration. http://www.network54.com/Forum/110741/t ... 02+Leopard

Do you plan on adding the casting seam to the mantlet?

I would be tough to make a kit of this but I have an idea .

Rather than make a sell a whole new hull I could design and plot some line drawing so anybody could slice and dice there own.

Because the wheels and tracks could be used from a donar Panther .

I could probably cast the rear deck and misc. pieces that make up the 1602 alng with the modified turret and gun.

It will make a new panzer !!!!

Yes, that detail doesn't appear on Grunts (Shapeways) turret but I think it would add to the overall look of the tank.

Pickelhaube,
While looking for info on the VK 1602 I found this ..... a kit bash/custom of a Panther G.
http://www.rctankregiment.com/rctankfor ... =36&t=2070

Most kits (in smaller scales than 1:18) of this VK 1602 Paper Panzer are the Panther D or A model. I think this G version is cool.
21st's Panther is the G......so I was going to build a 1602 as if it were made from 2 or 3 versions,
from battle damaged tanks.

The Shapeways / Grunt Puma turret seems to be a little larger in scale than 1:18. :? I'll make it work.
I'll have some pics by the end of the week.

I have ordered the turret and should be here on the 22nd. But I am way to busy to even think about starting this .

But I will enjoy looking at your progress Normandy !!!!!!!!

I forgot to mention that I got this to scale off of and I also have scale drawings from Panzer Tracts Paper Panzers .

So when ever time allows I will be ready to start this . Probably about 2 months from now . :?
