Small Scale Military Headquarters

unless i missed them somewhere else, i would like to see some pictures of displays that any of you have put up. i have so many xd and 1/6 scale now that i am running out of creative ideas to display. so if any of you would be willing i would like to see some of the creative ways that you have come up with. i hope 06 brings forth all the new stuff we want!!

Check out my Webshots if you want to see a jumble of our stuff, and my "display" doesn't include a full tub of other 1/18 and some 1/32 21C. I'm working on more shelf space.

I bought cheap shelves from Staples. They are big, light-weight and they are like milk crate so you can hang planes with fishing line.

I like your collection digger. Do I see a late-war, Berlin Panther re-paint there (ala Squadron color palate)?

Just out of curiosity, why did you display your Shermans showing their rear?

I had to make an addition to my office to house my toys. It’s just the size of a large walk in closet but it gets the job done. All the shelves were home made. I just went to h-depot and bought the heavy duty track and hangers. It’s so strong it could hold all the same airplanes even if they were all die cast. I still have some room to grow. On the other side, not pictured is the back of my basement stair case. That’s where I store most of my unopened planes.

Thanks - yea, that was a Berlin 1945 custom that got started and never finished I guess we all know how that goes.

Good question on the Shermans (I don't really know)....I like the motorpool look when I have multiples but I find I'm always turning them all one way or the other just to mix up my display and show the tanks from different angles. Right now all the winter M4s are facing out on another shelf. I guess I should really mount all the tools on the rear of those green ones if they are going to be ass-out.

7 shelves per unit is impressive as well. You really can make a corner go a long way, which I'm always trying to do

Fellas, those are all nice collection displays! Wish I had some dedicated space but all I have are the garage cabinets.

There is this German neighbor of my cousins (in San Diego, Ca) who had his whole living room filled with a giant G-scale LGB train setup! Recently, I was thinking how cool a similar sized WWII diorama would be

One of the guys on a 1/6 board wants to constuct a replica of the famous Berlin Zoo Flak Tower in his backyard. Now thats what I call a display.

He says his yard is small but he can fit in the Flak Tower rather nicely. With the newly released Dragon 1/6 German 20mm guns ringing the corners, it should be nice, maybe a few Borfors 40mm or an 88mm Flak.

Gotta love 1/6 guys. No stinken corner or basement or nice neat den for them

That display is absolutely beautiful. Simple, yet the lighting makes it dramatic...and shows each model really well. Can you post some more pics of your collection???

It depends on where the photo is now - who is hosting it. If you only have it on your computer then you need to put it in a public album like webshots.com if you got to webshots you could set up a free account and put your photos there.

Then the easiest option is to copy the address bar on the page with the photo, and then paste that address here for all to click on. It will get yellow and become "a link." Be sure you are not logged into webshots when you copy the address or nobody else will be able to view that page.

To get the photo into the reply you would do the same above and then highlight the address line and click the Img* button. This does not work for webshots but in general this will allow the photo to appear right here. Use the "preview" feature to see if your image appears. Sounds like a pain but do it for the team!

I love seeing the displays! It makes me feel better because realize I’m not the only one addicted to small scale vehicles and aircraft!:)
